Maybe that worked. We'll see. If not, expect to see this post edited a whole bunch of times while I try to stumble my way through it.

Anyway, we've got a month or so to set up a draft. Who is in?

Pretty excited I got it right the first time, so I'm just going to add the cast list here.

Yawn at the vet cast. Besides Amanda Garcia, it’s straight up the same cast as last season.

Hopefully the rookies bring some much needed “freshness” for lack of a better word.

Wow, this seems soon, or maybe I'm underestimating how long ago it was when you posted that rumored casting list. I'm in.

That's a giant cast and completely uninspiring from the vet side, but not surprising. This seems to be their recent trilogy model and they seem to keep the casting circle pretty small within those. Having only 1 new returnee out of 15 is embarrassing though, especially considering most of them have been on a ton of recent seasons.

So assuming we have five team owners (Valisk is confirmed out again), there are thirty four contestants, meaning everyone would get six players with four left over.

I'm thinking we can throw AmBer in there as an option to draft, but we have no idea of her participation level in the show. She might be a mercenary, she might be a replacement, she might just show up like CT did in Backpack. She wouldn't get points unless she is actually on the show, although I would throw in 5 episode appearance points if she only shows up for one instance. That would give everyone an even seven draftees. Thoughts?

At first I thought that maybe we should keep the reserves just in case someone leaves no fault of their own, but it's just as likely that if someone exits the game it is their fault. Even if someone gets a bad deal because of it, no reserves isn't as big a deal with potential teams this size. If we were talking about only having 4-5 people each, that'd be another story. Also, I love the terrible options when there's like 2-3 people left, rather than having 5 choices for the last pick. Either way is fine with me really.

Challenge All Stars 2 cast list, which is subject to change as they don't leave until Thursday and COVID is still a thing. Plus, 1-2 of these for each gender are alternates.

Pretty stoked about a few of these names. Casey, Emilee, Melinda, Svetlana, Brandon, Cohutta and more - none of whom were on last season. I'm really enjoying this senior circuit thing they've got going on now.

No Jemmye makes me happy. I'm also excited to see a season without Aneesa in either format, although I don't dislike her, I do feel like a season off would be a nice break from her.

Considering how Teck was a wonderful addition to last season, I'm glad to see that they're not fully stuck on "Challenge" All Stars. There's lots of people who for one reason or another didn't get a real run on the show. I'd say I wanted Nehemiah on the main show, but this is probably more fun, shorter duration, and potentially easier to win. They also cut a lot of people from last season that I wouldn't want back. Too bad Derrick is here. Send his boring ass to the main circuit if you insist on casting the guy.

Draft Order Determination:

Byrd (R0)
Headspace (R1)
Moss (R2)
Vil (R3)
Xno Kappa (R4)

The basketball score will be divided by five, with the remainder determining the first pick. After that, the winner of the first pick will be removed from the list, and everyone else will remain in alphabetical order, R0-3. Loser's score remainder (divided by 4) will determine second pick. Repeat this process until all picks determined.

Using tonight's upcoming games:
1st Pick: Germany-Nigeria winner divided by 5
2nd Pick: Germany-Nigeria loser divided by 4
3rd Pick: United States-Iran winner divided by 3
4th Pick: United States-Iran loser divided by 2
5th Pick: Whoever is left.

Germany beat Nigeria 99-92. 99/5 = 19 R 4, meaning Xno gets first pick.
92/4 = 23 R0, meaning I get second pick.

Makes Head - R0, Moss - R1, Vil - R2

US beat Iran 120-66. 120 / 3 = 40 R0, meaning Headspace gets third pick.
66 / 2 = 33 R0, meaning Moss gets fourth pick.

My theory last time was that Ashley alternates good and terrible seasons, and picked her first. I was just off a season, clearly I was off a season. You should definitely not learn from my lesson and draft her first overall.

You're right about the M/F split, not doing that is almost always a bad idea. I don't know why they keep pushing it. Either you need an artificial equalizer, or the men have a ridiculous advantage.

Also, looks like the final cast list changed some. Brandon's an alternate (and apparently Jemmye has been promoted to an alternate), Svetlana and Ruthie are out, but Tina Barta is in.

After a lot of back and forth with this, I’m gonna have to go with Fessy. While CT is still obviously a beast of a competitor, Fessy has that and way more drama and coitus potential.

It was a tough decision but I have yet to win a fantasy and with the first overall pick I can’t fuck this up. I ain’t trying to become the Aneesa of BG.

Do they still sell custom avatar lines for BG? Because if they do, and you don't win this year, I think you've got yours picked out.

I saw an article the other day from Us Weekly or something like that. They've been doing drink vouchers. I'm not going to try to pretend that this isn't a series that has had issues with alcohol, but that seems like either an over-correction, a move too late, or both.

Anyway, also bumping this because I saw Moss post in another thread and he may not even know that the draft already got going, let alone that he's up.
