Apparently from doing a little reading, today is when the FDA will decide on JJ and Moderna boosters? Apparently the JJ one isn't all that hot and they have found if you got JJ originally and get a Moderna or Pfizer booster it actually boosts you more then the JJ one. They still need to do some testing about mix and matching but from a few articles from AP it seems there's no major issue they are finding as of yet.

An influential Food and Drug Administration advisory committee on Friday said the agency should authorize boosters of Johnson & Johnson’s single-shot Covid-19 vaccine to the more than 15 million Americans who have already received the initial dose.

The unanimous vote – by the agency’s Vaccines and Related Biological Products Advisory Committee – is a critical step before the U.S. can begin giving second shots to J&J recipients, some of whom have said they are anxious to get the additional protection. One dose of J&J’s vaccine has been shown in studies to be comparatively less effective than the two-dose messenger RNA vaccines made by Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna.

The panel recommended the boosters to everyone 18 and over who’s already received J&J’s first shot at least two months after the initial dose. Many committee members said it should be considered a two-dose vaccine much like Moderna and Pfizer’s.

Honestly, at this point...even if those lunatics are right and the vaccine will kill me, I dont really care. Over 90% of my friends are vaccinated, the only sport I truly enjoy watching has "four unvaccinated players" in its league...I'd rather be dead if thats the result.

I was in the same household for a day with a person who had Covid, and I did not contract it. Needless to say, I am grateful for my two Moderna shots.

I am also an essential worker who works among the public, and thank god I have not gotten sick yet.

Literally nothing is stopping you. And honestly based on the numbers I've seen I'd do the same. just go to a CVS and say you're getting your first shot

Anecdotally, I've had many people tell me they've taken an unauthorized booster/3rd shot. It's as easy as going to a pharmacy chain and not telling them you're already vaccinated. Same deal for crossing manufacturers; plenty are doing it and I've yet to hear of any problems

I got J&J. Wife got Pfizer due to being pregnant at the time and more data being out there.

I'm debating going and getting moderna, even she said to do it lol.
