Everything's going wrong for them right now lol. Curious to see where they'll be in the next 10 games or so. LeBron might have to pull a 2018 Cavs on them and trade the whole team.

    technically my man isn't wrong

but mostly i think they're just old and have lost the defensive identity that championship squad was built on. CP3 really carved their points to pieces and the pick & roll d was baaaaaddddddd

Larry had the best hands of any defender i've ever seen besides Kawhi and Pippen, was extraordinary re anticipation, and as good a 3 as there ever was at closing off a defensive possession with a rebound. a wandering agent of chaos on D, was an extraordinary help defender in the era of man-to-man or hard doubles, think he'd excel in an age where soft defenses are allowed.

main problem was just his lateral quickness, which was no so good. never excelled as a 1 on 1 stopper, would need a wing defender and a rim protecting center to unlock his all-defense potential, both of which he obviously got in Boston.

that said the man led the league in DWS 3 times, was 2nd place 2 times, and top 10 in DBPM his entire prime. if anything his second team awards undersell how good he was defensively, absolute darling of advanced stats, and soars past the eye test on highlights like these.

My bad. I should've put "hot takes" in quotes. I was being sarcastic cause Magic is always tweeting out the most obvious shit lol.

But yeah, people are pointing out that the Lakers were starting to do some good in the 4th, so they might have something to aim for in the next game or two.

And I though the chair stacking guy for Wolves' halftime on Wednesday was awkward. I wonder what tonight's game will have?

If Manu was any other team, he would have made the list easily. I guess he will have to settle for 4 championships and a gold medal.

Last night's Wolves v Pelicans game got needlessly sweaty.

    A-Rod showed up.

Couple early surprises: bulls 3-0 stands out, although 2 over the pistons without Cunningham is pretty easy.

Bulls will be good this year. the fringe contender talk is pretty out there but if health stays playoff-bound and maybe a first round win. get some lucky breaks like last year's Conference Finalists and an ECF isn't out of the question.

they have a metric shit-ton of offensive firepower, LaVine is a flamethrower and Vuc and DeRozan were both the offensive focal points for playoff teams. on the other side Lonzo + Caruso form an elite defensive back-court. Donovan is a shit offensive coach but solid defensively and gets his guys motivated, LaVine has all the tools to defend and Vuc can at least be smart and big and strong.

bench is a big question mark outside of Caruso. interior D won't be great as their front-court depth is basically nil + if they want Caruso to close games that slides DeRozan into a 4 position he can't defend. but Bulls are gonna be pretty solid brother.

I think the overall quality of the east will prevent the bulls from being more than a fringe playoff team. Bucks, nets, heat, celts, hawks, knicks are all arguably (or obviously) better. Could the bulls get a 4 seed? Maybe. But seems far more likely to be in a play in game.
