Do you 'member when the story in Kingdom Hearts was Simple and Clean, and then Kingdom Hearts 2 and the 6 side-games came out and fucked that all up? I 'member.

I played KH on release in 2002. Skipped alllllll the side games and KH2, jumped into KH3 on release. Needless to say I had no idea what the fuck was going on and even more upset they seemingly abandoned all FF characters and Disney characters really just became the backdrop to Nomura’s circle jerk story.
Before KH3, I played all the games in order. I pretty much understood all of it. The first thing I didn't get occurred in DDD, and they explained what I didn't get in the game (how timetravel shit works). KH isn't really that hard to understand, imo. There isn't really much story in each game if you cutout the disney parts that don't matter. If you played them years apart as they released, I can kind of understand how it could be confusing, but if you play them in release date order within a shortish amount of time, I think you'd be fine >.>
Story sucks anyway. Aqua and Riku cool doe.
KH1 is understandable because you know why you are going to the different worlds. You are saving the princesses of the heart.
In KH3 there's a whole backstory to the villain including how there are like fifteen different versions of the same dude. If that's not confusing enough, the actual stuff you play through isn't related at all to the overarching plot. You're doing your villain of the week narrative adventuring in different Disney worlds completely disconnected from what the actual story is about.

Just because it's nonsensical doesn't mean it doesn't make sense. -IceSylph
i've never played a minute of Kingdom Hearts which may be why FFVIIR was so difficult for me as it was my first exposure to Nomura
I only played 1 and 2. 2 had clearly superior combat to the first one and lots of fun mini games as well but even then the story was starting to get too convoluted to enjoy, and none of the Disney worlds felt as joyful to play through as they did in the first one. Pride Rock in particular made Simba feel like a loser.

The best praise I can give for KH3 is that the Pirates of the Caribbean level is probably the best pirate videogame since Assassin’s Creed Black Flag
Pirates was the level I disliked the most lol. Just felt like it was slower and took a lot longer than the others for me
It was pretty impressive for what amounts to like less than 15% of the total game imo, but I could say that for so many of the worlds in that game.

The first encounter between Aerith and Marlene happens during chapter 12 of FFVII Remake, titled “Fight for Survival.” In it, both characters meet at the Seventh Heaven bar, where Marlene is hiding during a Shinra assault at the sector’s plate. During this scene, Aerith introduces herself to the girl and manages to calm her, after which Marlene reacts as if she had seen something. This event goes unexplained for the rest of the game.
However, the FFVII Remake development team recently gave more details about the exchange. Apparently, depending on each person’s sensitivity, when someone comes into contact with Aerith they may see a vision or illusion that transcends time and space. During their first encounter in FFVII Remake, Marlene saw some sort of vision that she should not have seen when interacting with Aerith. However, the development team decided to leave what she saw up to each person’s interpretation.
That just sounds like bad writing/design if they have to explain it years after the fact because no one understood it.
