Looking back at previous comments, I hope this turns out to be every bit as amazing as FF Origins.
RAGNAROOOOOOOOOK
I didn't think the day would ever come when Star Ocean 6 actually looks promising and VP is on a downward spiral.
Gameplay looks like Devil May Cry minus the guns.
It...doesn't look terrible.
The voice work is pretty cringe for this day and age, though.
Better than the first reveal trailer at least.
Getting major PS1 era low-budget-yet-turned-out-a-cult-classic vibe from second trailer. Loving the atmosphere.
I'm sick of tripe A looking games. Please give me shit graphics so that I know you are confident in your game's gameplay.
whynothaveboth.jpeg? No. I don't want both. I want shit graphics. Give me shit graphics. Give me shit cinematic experience.
Give me shit graphics, shit cinematic experience, shit voice acting, shit budget, and most importantly, give me the shittiest, most barebone excuse for a story you can come up with. Why? Because at that point, I KNOW the gameplay will be fucking FIYA. Tons of weapons, customization, side content, bonus dungeons, etc., etc., all the shit that made me love JRPGs.
I'd argue a lot of the good JRPGs technically weren't shit for their time and has really been one of the reasons why I hate the old argument that people who like the genre don't actually care about presentation. Because every time you push garbage aesthetic, you turn off people, and the more people turn off, the less money the game gets, and the less money the game gets, the less you're likely to see a sequel or similar title in the genre. Polish the shit good and shiny. Have a banger soundtrack. Give a damn about your voice direction and plot. Then we'll get more good games. SE isn't some poor indy studio that has cut corners here, either.

Very good. Happy that demos are making a comeback in general
What I like most is demos that transfer to the full game. Don't have time to be replaying prologues anymore
I worry it means they're not super confident in the game itself.
First impressions are hard to shake. We're looking at a game borrowing the franchise with seemingly no real connection other than some Norse myth. Deviation to action combat from the turn-based combo timing. A bad trailer with very questionable voice acting. Just tells me SE knows they're taking a risk and people aren't gonna drop $60 on a bastardization of an old series they loved, so throw out a demo and pray.
