The SAM QoL changes are nice.

The 2 point AoE is now no longer a cone as well
Meikyo charges can't be eaten by the ranged attack anymore
Third Eye duration increased by a second

Seems like RDM lost a lot of utility, used to be they had 2 grav, 2 bind, 2 hp barriers, extra self heal, damage taken debuff and damage up for the party. And Role Actions are removed as well? Wonder if they still have bonus damage reduction.

Still, looks interesting but it'll be an adjustment.

SAM shit honestly kind of sucks. If you run a crit comp you just lost DPS from this patch. Removing Kaiten just oversimplifies an already simple mechanic in Kenki management at the expense of party synergy and half of your big burst hits' potencies. Your "guaranteed crits" will do as much damage as a pre-patch non crit, roughly. This isn't a gain.

NIN still DPS neutral with no improvements to playability aside from no longer having to do Doton pulls.

Anyway, I felt this was a very good start of the new arc. I was afraid the first patch would feel slow and/or boring because of whatever they were going to start setting up, but I was very pleasantly surprised. And that Y'shtola scene o lord :D
