Patch 6.1: Newfound Adventure (April 12th, 2022)

We're not really speaking about the same PVP if you're talking about locking up an entire group to death. That doesn't happen at higher ranks in CC. What does happen, however, are people dropping like flies to the holy trinity of rotated CC: Silence >> Poly >> Stun >> Death. Its a deadly combo because most people won't cleanse the silence because they don't consider it "a threat like stun", which leads to their doom: you can't cleanse the Poly and that's 4 seconds of you getting wailed on with 0 counterplay. A simple stun afterwards seals the deal, because you won't have the reactions to mash purify before the last 20% of your health gets chopped off during the beginning of the stun.

I went from not caring about silence to absolutely dreading it once I got into a high enough bracket where people make use of it. Its a subtle and non-offensive CC on the surface, because you can still move, you just can't act, so you think you're safe, but not really. I now purge silence on reaction, especially when I know a high-damaging rdm is on the enemy CC team.

If you're talking about generic frontlines matches, then yeah, Mongo barbarian AOE stun is the tits, but WHM's LB is far, far worse, and up almost just as often. War stun in CC is great, but its not what makes War so deadly: its the fact that none of the other tanks have anything like it on such a low cooldown. Drk is a god - when its LB is up. Pld is a god - once every 30 seconds. Gnb is... something, lol. That job needs some serious love.

So how hard is it to get into PvP? Tried it in GW2 and hated it.

Hard to say: depends on you. Try it and find out. Casual CC and frontlines.

very easy to get into imo. queues are fast, matches are short. If you get steamrolled at least you lose quickly.

Just make sure you go into the wolves den FIRST before queueing for a match as all your abilities on your hotbar will be completely different. Play around with the target dummies and then give frontlines a go. Also, there's some sweet ass Glam gear for most classes and the pvp daily gives a decent chunk of xp if you're trying to level. Depending on what the daily map is, you'll get the hang of it. Just stick with the group

Same because silver hell is making me very salty. I can only 1v5 so much while people never get on the point.

I stopped caring about ranking. As much as I want the Crystal frame I'm not finna turn a casual pvp mode into getting mad at how dumb my team mates typically are

I want at least Platinum Frame so I will grind myself out of Gold, then play normally to see if I can get to Crystal eventually for the uberframe

I don't give a shit about commends, but about climbing. I check stats and move the hell onto the next match. What do commends even do anyway? I have 2081 to my name and have never cared about a single one.

There is a mount reward for 3k comms and I think you need 1.5k to qualify for mentor status. Which, if you ONLY play DPS jobs, is gonna be a tall task.

How do you even do this when you cannot queue as a premade?

You form a 10 man group in party finder and que for it, it randomly assigns teams and does not give rewards or ranking

It's just that premade is currently only custom matches, so you don't get anything/much for it, so people are ignoring it.
