For reference the stadium can host about 65k and they’d only sold around 18k tickets with one month to go before the show. And the MGM Grand can only hold 12k-13k so some early buyers are gonna end up missing out. Bad look all around.

So AEW does this thing where they license their PPVs to be screened at movie theatres, my local AMC and CMX both do it so I think I’m gonna go see double or nothing on a big screen Sunday night, looks like fun

MJF no showed Fan Fest and hasn't been answering his phone.

According to SRS he's physically fine so this might be legit MJF refusing to show over the contract stuff.

Samoa Joe no showed as well, in addition to the Hardy's showing up late, but there doesn't seem to be concern over those. Still no official comment from anyone on what's going on

It's been known MJF was unhappy about his contract, but was going with the questionable negotiating tactic of demanding a raise without wanting to add extra years to his deal, which is just... dumb

I'll believe it when Max gets on the plane. Pulling a "That doesn't work for me, brother" at this point does nothing for Max but to hurt his brand. That said, and I've said this before as well with the Cody thing, if this turns out to be a work then AEW stands for lose a ton of credibility.

My head kayfabe is that there was an issue where there was some miscommunication which caused some talent to be late for/miss their m&g, and this was some kind of attempt to recover/capitalize when it was only known to have been MJF that missed his. That said it would shitty to spin people not getting something they paid for and potentially came in from out of town for into an angle.
