Hell yeah, about time
https://news.capcomusa.com/2022/06/1...he-cycle-anew/A part of today’s “10 Years of Dragon’s Dogma” Developer Video, director Hideaki Itsuno officially announced a title that many of you have been waiting for: Dragon’s Dogma II is now in development!
In case you missed it, watch the video above for the full message, or read our quick recap below!
Mr. Itsuno recalls how his earliest experiences with high fantasy were thanks to classic pen-and-paper role playing games. This resulted in his love of RPGs as a whole, something that he would carry with him throughout his time working on arcade titles for Capcom throughout the 90’s. By 2000, Mr. Itsuno began to build out his own fantasy world, one that would eventually become what we now know as Dragon’s Dogma.
Touching on how the team built out the land of Gransys, the reason behind the game’s unique Pawn System, and the titles he worked on in between his initial concept for Dragon’s Dogma and the game’s release, we encourage Arisen of all types to enjoy Mr. Itsuno’s reflections on his time developing the original game and the thrill of the surprise announcement of Dragon’s Dogma II.
To celebrate, Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen is also be on sale on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC, making it the perfect time to explore the world of Gransys and prepare yourself for what lies ahead. They’re masteworks, all – you can’t go wrong.
This was undoubtedly my GotY when it came out, cannot wait for this.

Does it hold up? Never got around to it and 4.50 for DA is tempting
The graphics hold up ok and the gameplay is still top notch once you get used to the slightly awkward control scheme.
The voice acting is absolute shit but that's a large part of the charm
It's in the Capcom Humble Bundle as well. $10 is the lowest tier it's in, but if you can handle $20 and don't have a bunch of the games, it's a decent value.

Super fucking excited. Loved the first game so much.
I honestly thought they were just gonna re-release the first game, so this is amazing.
Dark Arisen is honestly a damn cult classic. All the great ideas were present in the first game, now we just need it to be taken to the next level in the sequel.
This is the reason why DD fans are so zealous in wanting a sequel: we see the potential where this game can go, and it can easily make it better than any Soulsbornering game ever made just due to the far superior combat system already in place.
I would love more big set pieces as I felt the first game was lacking in those a bit. Stuff like the griphon fight in the thunderstorm and the Beholder on the stairwell chasing you with its tentacles
Are the multiplayer features still working? Or will my Pawn never get used by others and therefore get stronger or w/e? I've been considering replaying it for a while
Awesome.
Might have to pick up Dark Arisen for PC.
Cool yeah, I started a new game and that doesn't seem like a limiting factor so pretty pleased
A little disappointed how much seems to be reused. Map, enemies, even the dragon is back. Sphinx thing is creepy as hell, though.
Really disappointed with that showing. Honestly looks more like dlc to DD1 than a new game that is coming out a decade later.
Environmental hazards look neat, but how many will actually be in the game and are they going to reserved solely for planned events? All I was thinking when the cyclops started getting swept away by the broken dam was “I’m not going to do that if my loot gets washed away”
I’m still hopeful. There’s not even a release date yet, and I’m sure they are hiding a lot of stuff still. I just wanted to board the hype train.
