Ya'll think Draymond will actually walk if GSW doesn't give him a max? I can't see them doing it, even if it for sure ends their dynasty.

I feel like most Dubs fans have already been operating under the assumption that his current contract would be the end of his time in the Bay.

Though that was heading to TNT since they're clearly prepping him to replace Chuck's spot on Inside. If it's because he wants a max contract, well good luck to him.

it's an interesting question because you're basically fucking the team for the short-term future for the shorter-term chance to win one more before his drop-off on defense/passing becomes too severe to compensate for his lackluster scoring

Dubs were garbo and never came close to winning a ring in the 40 years after Barry's run. maybe a ring doesn't mean as much after four of em but Dubs could go 40 more without as good a chance to win a ring as they have next season running it back. but you really are lighting money on fire and saying we're sacrificing the next five years for one more chance.

The Dubs future is very heavily dependent on how Moody and Kuminga develop (and Wiseman to a degree).

Draymond still has 2 seasons left on his current contract, and if Moody and Kuminga can progress well enough in year 2 it's possible they could save themselves a boatload of cash in letting Wiggins walk. It's safe to assume Poole will definitely be getting that rookie extension when he's due, but not having to pay Wiggins gives them a good amount of leeway as they transition to whatever the roster will look like in the post Splash Bros lineup that's coming sooner rather than later

Is he trying to force the issue on an extension before this coming season? Little need for GSW to make the move now with another year (paying 25M) on his contract unless he's going to demand a trade or something (seems...unlikely?)

He's been tweeting that he expects a max offer because he deserves it or that he will leave, complete with implying that he would take the minimum to play with LeBron (and vacationing with LeBron to try prove it)

Well his next year is a player option, so he could bail this summer if he doesn't get the extension he wants. But it's hard to believe that his solution to not getting a max money offer would be to turn down a year of money and go play for peanuts early.
