Amazing how much the Browns and Jags fucked up future negotiations for the QB and WR positions.

Lamar kind of a dumbass with that one though, he has to know that the way he plays the position makes him an injury risk and teams would be hesitant to give him a gigantic guarantee. But considering he doesn't have an agent maybe he doesn't know that.

Hmm seeing more than I guess it was the NFLPA pushing him to only settle for a fully guaranteed deal, likely trying to force the Deshaun contract as the new standard.

I think the Lamar contract is where the owners/front offices will stand firm. The owners are probably livid with Haslam. Burrow and Herbert are guys that might get something close to Watson, but I think his contract is going to be treated as an outlier instead of a new precedent like Kirk’ WR deal.

The Ravens would be absolutely moronic to give Lamar the same contract Watson got, but I was really hoping they would lol. The Ravens are a very smart organization though and didn’t come anywhere close to the same guaranteed money.

Especially because I feel like there really wasn't any need for it. He still hadn't played a single snap of the previous contract the Texans had given him, and the Browns just threw on an extra 80 million and another year and made it fully guaranteed.

The Browns did it because he clearly wanted nothing to do with playing for or living in Cleveland. He was going elsewhere until that last second fully guaranteed update on their end.
