possibly 7
Durant could carry you to a WCF
just like he carried harden and kyrie?
o wait
And he did carry Harden to a WCF
durant has made 6 conference finals in 14 seasons. he hasn't made a single one without westbrook or curry running the point. if kyrie misses that shot in game 7, you'd probably be slandering him instead of russell right now but here we are
I don't think Kyrie is a top 75 player either
But he's shown he can play complimentary basketball with an all time great and win a ring
Either way, one of them (or Dame tbh) needs to not be there to get Dwight Howard in, because him not making that list was fucking egregious
that was a cool final scene. still felt like an episode 9 but I was certainly entertained. the lady who plays Rhaenyra acted her ass off these past few eps, shes p good
edit: wtf im lost
also im not a stats guy but russ had 4 seasons where he averaged a triple double, 1 of which was 2 seasons ago for the wizards when ppl were already claiming that he was washed. if giannis were to accomplish that once, archie would be on here ranking him higher than king james.
to say russ is not top 75 is weirdo behavior, get some help
Idk, Bill Walton was so injured during his NBA career but such an impressive player when he could actually suit up. And even if it shouldn't count, it feels impossible to separate his college accolades.
He was basically only healthy for 4 seasons of his NBA career, and in those seasons won 2 finals, a finals MVP, 6th man of the year, and MVP (though he did break his foot late in that season). Such a massive "what if" had he been able to stay healthy given what he did in college and his limited on court time in the NBA.
Also being a west coast kid and having grown up with listening to Bill Walton commentate Pac-10/12 games, I will accept zero slander about the man. He is a god.
kran really thought he could sneak a 6th man award in there, as if that adds anything to this conversation
that second ring with the Celtics he averaged all of 7-7-2
i agree he's a huge what if talent, but he had basically three prime years and one of them ended in disaster. didn't even play 500 games in his career and half of those were injured or as a roleplayer. he doesn't belong anywhere near a top 75 list.
but also who cares all these fringe guys are 100% getting yeeted off that list by Luka and Jokic and Tatum
I'd assume by the next time they update it it'll be for the 100th anniversary, so 24 new spots opening up (since the 75 list actually had 76 people on it)
may the following 24 years give us 24 more Lukas so we don't have to suffer the Waltons and Dames of the world on the list
hot take: i think i'd take dame over GP
i also think he clears the bob cousy/old head tier of players as well
i used to listen to him cast clipper games, he was wild
such a fun listen. also insane that he somehow found his way into the FGC (????) lol
agree with what was mentioned though. he was a baller player but just didn't get enough games in to be a top 75 guy. and that's ok.
