Lol, you Valisk'd yourself on the same day.
the nfl is dead

It's insane how across the board TV viewership numbers have been dying for years and the NFL just keeps going up and up
In Shady's honour, I found some all-time stats that put Dak Presgod in very unaverage company:
All-Time Quarterback Win Percentage in Superbowl Era (50+ Starts):
Spoiler: show
All-Time Passing Touchdown/Interception Ratio (1500+ Pass Attempts):
Spoiler: show
All-Time Passer Rating (1500+ Pass Attempts):
Spoiler: show
mmmm stats
Good thing Dak has those deep playoff runs to really reinforce his greatness
micah will carry us to the promise land eventually
also if russ retired last year he would have been a lock for the hof. its wild what one year can do to your reputation. shits rough man
Wow Garoppolo is 5th in career passer rating now?
Just shows you how much the rule changes have impacted the game. Guys like Peyton/Marino/Kurt will remain the most impressive QBs ever because of this.
jimmy and shanahan kinda cheat the system.
this year jimmy is #4 in yards per attempt, which passer rating calculates, but only #32 in air yards per attempt which passer rating doesn't calculate. dumping it off to deebo/cmc/kittle every play makes your passer rating look amazing.
all those other guys are near the top of the league with air yards per attempt every year. dak is tied with mahomes for air yards per attempt, which most people wouldn't guess was true
mahomes is more talented than marino imo, and marino was arguably the most talented old generation qb.
the stats all point to mahomes being the single most talented qb ever, and your eyes show it too. the guy averages 38 tds and 4700 yards a year... thats most dudes best year.
he even lost his hof wr and it didn't phase him one bit. he's comfortably on pace to be the mvp again
Then you def didn't watch enough early-mid Marino. The only better pure QB is Peyton Manning.
Mahomes is insane, but his WR get to roam around freely while he innovates, often drawing free first downs etc. That would never have happened before all the changes.
Edit: Also, the only reason late-era Marino wasn't just as nasty is because there weren't...said rules in place to prevent him (and his targets) from being fucking obliterated on a weekly basis. Offense was just exponentially more difficult then than today, period. It isn't even up for debate. The only thing worth discussing is whether one of these guys like Jimmy G would have thrived back then; the clear answer in his case is absolutely not. Mahomes? Maybe in something like the Rams unique offense.
Your whole "the stats all point" is nonsense, absolute garbage. The entire point is the stats are not comparable. It is not even apples to oranges, it is apples to something-that-isn't-a-fruit.
At this moment in time the Chiefs have a 8-2 record with the #20th currently ranked defense, #25 currently ranked defensive takeaways, and #1 currently ranked offense in the league.
At some point you just need to acknowledge what you're watching. Mahomes has either been the #1 or #2 seed literally every year he's played NFL football, and he doesn't have the benefit of Bardy's defenses. He just out throws every QB he plays against, and has a better win percentage than Bardy does doing it... which is crazy.
Mahomes is limited by the Oline and that alone. KC will probably sell half the city before they let him go to another team.
andy reid
Kadarius Toney
I fully recognize that as I'd rank him as my #1 "new" QB in the modern era. He just ain't touching the best when the rules were *drastically* different. He would have to prove it, which he obviously can't, so a line is drawn. His style of play and success is a direct result of the rule changes.
The dude that impresses me the most though is probably Joe Burrow. So yeah. Burrow is a dude who is feasting now and could very clearly translate to when offense was much harder to produce. He is a fuckin Terminator.
