Elden Ring easily.
Did a bootlegged castlevania whip build on my 2nd play through and it felt like a brand new even more fun game after dumping something like 110+ hours on the first play through as a pew pew mage. The flexibility of character builds and the sheer size of the world to explore is top notch from beginning to end.
I am truly enjoying Xenoblade Chronicles 3, yet to play GoW but voting for Elden Ring. The most alive “dead time” I’ve had in recent years.
All these threads continue to do is remind me that I rarely seem to play the current year's big titles because I'm frugal with my spendings, with enough of a backlog to comfortably wait for large discounts on games of interest. Only thing on the poll I dumped hours into is Vampire Survivors, but that was also a $3 grab. Hell, I just picked Ghost of Tsushima: Director's Cut, a 2021 rerelease of a 2020 game.
That said? There's a lot on that poll I want to actually play at some point, so I'd have to say this has been a semi-decent year for gaming as far as my interest levels go.
vampire survivors having as many votes as ragnarok at the moment is very funny to me
think Elden Ring might take it, somehow tweet @ Nate Silver to get a professional opinion
i said before i have 110 hours into vampire survivors, im just saying it’s funny
The more I play Xenoblade Chronicles 3 the more I get convinced that Yasunori's music is a masterpiece in the game. No single tune that disappointed me so far and I am about 50 hours into the game. I even open it up in the background while working.
Sad to see him missing the award this year and I haven't played Ragnarok yet so I can't pass a fair judgment but I wish he won the recognition.
Games were that bad this year, huh?
