I really hate how aneurysms are discussed in media. You don't suffer one, you have one until it ruptures.
In medical terms it's like saying you suffered a cough instead of pneumonia or cancer.
Yeah, it's "Here's this ticking time bomb inside you, that may or may not rupture. Well, have a good day, enjoy trying to sleep ever again."
There's a difference between a rupture and an aneurysm. Having an aneurysm rarely lands you in the ICU unless it's ruptured. They wouldn't be talking about end of life comfort care if it was stable or unruptured.
So the point I was making was they should call it what it is, which is a brain hemorrhage or ruptured aneurysm.
Yeah I see your point. Apparently 6% of people have aneurysm. Of these only 0.2% seems to rupture. Since an aneurysm is largely asymptomatic most people don't and won't ever know they have one.
Misleading media coverage make it look like a death sentence.
