    Shatter blows even more now. I just wanted to put that somewhere on the internet.

    Previously was least favorite frontlines (after rework from HW intro) but I could still play and only be slightly annoyed during some games where the team didn't want to fully commit to pvp. Now though it's even more of a slog with the kill points nerf, multi-large ice up, and the sudden shift to smalls mid-round to distract. Hardly any pvp action, hitting training dummies with the smaller pvp rotation, and also taking the full 20 minutes to complete the round makes the mode boring as hell. So now every three days I'm not going to queue for frontlines anymore. I actually spend the majority of my time in FFXIV capping tomes via frontlines (there are dozens of us!) so less available days to do that sucks.

    Haven't tried it yet but I'm thunking they figured it would funnel people to the ice objectives and create battles there.

    Wasn't the main problem that people were ONLY doing ice and avoiding fights entirely? That and the shitty new map layout putting 2/3 teams at a major disadvantage in big ice engagements.

    Once I reach the series cap for all the prizes I pretty much just do the onhair naddam or whatever the fuck to get the achievement mount and just ignore the rest

    Yea, that was an issue due to how small ice would spawn constantly throughout out the match and basically take someone's attention. The new system sounds like the way it sometimes worked in the old Shatter map, i.e. long periods of time with nothing up, so it was team deathmatch until Big ice spawned to funnel players to it. Patch notes said 2 Big Ice will be up at a time, so it seems like you'd have two 2 teams on one while the third slowly wittles their own ice down. Dunno how the meta will eventually turn out, but I guarantee DRK, DRG, and AST stacks will still be there to be a pain in the ass.

    Played a lot of the new Shatter and the flow is definitely different. There's a lot more actual PvP but with the way the spawns are, there's some strategic depth to it like holding your own big ice so you can use it for an influx of points while you scum everyone else's. However, XIV PvP being what it is, good luck with trying to corral everyone else to do any kind of strategy beyond "Go there". Even if you were to try, people would just call you a try hard and "I'm just here for tomes/exp lol". So that said, there is more actual PvP but you can pretty much tell who's gonna win based on Big Ice spawns.

    The XVI stuff was added this patch as prep for the collab.

    Also preorder bonus items and changes to the Sundering emote (persistence added, account wide instead of character locked)

    Ayzema Earring, typical 30% xp bonus for jobs 90 and below as well as Zidane minion which has ridiculous LoV stats; 4 speed and his ability makes his entire party's attacks aoe
