Kat has def gotten better and played better these playoffs (defensively more than anywhere) but Ant is a lift everyone up type leader and big fella has responded.

Dubs most successful dynasty of the era and Curry been the most supportive leader in basketball managing the fragile and unstable pscyhologies of Draymond and Durant. team would've imploded year 1 if he tried some alpha dominant Mike noise.

simplest and most ignored truth in sports is there are different paths to winning
And this is why I said that KAT's mental profile is a weakness. He's shrinking in the moment because he doesn't respond well to adversity and being challenged. The benefit of playing Mike's way is that even if you lose it's never going to be because you beat yourselves.

Shaq: “KAT has not stepped up. 0/8 from three is unacceptable. After you shoot two threes and it don’t go down take your big ass in the lane and do what Chuck has been talking about.”

Draymond: "When the going gets tough, KAT gets going the other direction."

Bill Walton has an argument as the greatest men's college basketball player ever, and it's always propped up his time in the NBA given how injury plagued he was.

Walton always been fairly overrated but one perfect season in Portland and his college career carry him aye

also gg no re Mavs. i've been big on them for a while but did not a WCF sweep / gentleman's expect. Luka with 5 steals and a block to cement a defensive mastapiece of a series for him. Kyrie also rocking career best defense. love to see old offensive dogs do the damn thing.

Kat sucked but shitty casual espn etc take, Jordan and Bryant beat themselves more than once it just looked different. Kobe shot the Lakers into a hard series loss in 04 barking and yelling and trying to alpha over everyone infuriating his teammates / coach while shooting 38% / 17% and having as many turnovers as assists.

also Kat was just Minny's best player in a game 7 against the defending champs but that don't fit the narrative.

Not to take anything away from the Pistons, but I still think those Lakers win if Malone didn't get injured at the end.

if Malone is healthy and Bryant passes while deferring to Shaq as the #2 it would've been a much tougher series, yall were huge favorites going in and had just knocked out mean squads in San Antonio and Minnesota

also my man don't miss. don't agree with all he says (has anyone ever hated drop coverage more?) but always has beautiful footage to pick apart and keeps the reads / schemes easy enough for laymen to follow

The timing of this is just absolutely unbelievable. Literally days after the death of the PAC12. His contributions to the college game are far more reaching than his NBA tenure. Dave Pasch must be in shambles.

honestly respect they've overachieved from the jump cuz of an easy injury-laden road but have fought their hearts out all playoffs as a not very good team

At this point I'd prefer the sweep for the Mavs so that they're theoretically more healthy. The Celtics have had a fucking cake walk to the finals with all the injuries

Kyrie revenging on Boston, Tingis Pingis revenging on Dallas, Tatum vs Doncic for first of the younger stars to break through, two great two-way teams, should be a ballin ass Finals

Boston has shown issues defending scoring guards, fortunately they won't have to worry about that with Dallas...

Luka and Kyrie are the 1st duo starting backcourt in over 50 years to score 30+ points each (in the same game) in 3 or more games in a single playoffs.
