Oddly enough, I do know where they are going. I worked for a short time on a research project that was funded by the Department of Defense. Let's just say I got my name off of that train wreck as soon as I could.

Yes DOD contracts are handled like this:
Lowest bidder = winner of contract
Least amt of $ spent on research = Great idea
Final product = We will implement this, even if it does not work.

Very frustrating when you are trying to get them to instal Fiber Optics instead of the standard modem dial to secure. Reason being, even though myself and others have pleaded that its the MOST secure way of data trf and speed, $. Yet we have enough $ to call up reservists to send over to the sand for months on end. Sorry to make this political, but I am upset that I can't get my staples into the shape of diamonds
