It depends on if you have a image database.
Most used are .jpg's on monkey websites.... .gif if you use a special sort of database to load you pictures faster.
I also forgot to go into detail... Im using a free web host... Tripod... If that makes any difference wich I don't think it does. Thank you again again. . Also what about backgrounds? Any special or specific format for that?
You have to pay for these services
Please tell me... Im a newb to web building...
jpgs
I prefer gif. Long live saving bandwidth
Don't use tripod/geocities/someshittyhostthatdoesn'tfuckingwork...
PNG - You can have this.Originally Posted by ZeroM

I don't really know what to use... I want something free for now til I get better at this... The ads on tripod piss me off because its killing my Java Chat... Doesnt really matter not like people will actually be visiting it... Anyway can you give me some suggestions on hosts? Something that is easy please and thank you.Originally Posted by Mithracat
Depends what the image is and what's in it. If you have anything with text in it, use a .gif to retain the quality. If there is no text and it's just a normal image, use a .jpg/.jpeg.
...I took a web design class in college <.<
i think php nuke is free, if you're looking for forums. jpg is kinda like a standard i guess. gif is more flexible and imo a better file type. png is a larger file type, but it has higher quality then jpg.
