Computer problems.

When I log in I can't even stay in for 10 minutes without getting an error that says "Playonline Viewer has encountered an error". This didn't start until I got a new sound card about 3 months ago, and has gotten progressivly worse since then. I took the sound card out a week ago or so and that didn't fix it. =\

I tried different sticks of ram and that also didn't fix it. I've also tried a different video card and that did not fix it.

Any ideas? =\

Edit: It also seems really random as yesterday with did Bomb Queen and Hakutaku for like 5 hours and I didn't crash once. Today I crashed every 5 minutes in an exp party and eventually got pissed and left.

I just did a chat session with SE and they asked for all my information and such, I told them. He asked if I had my firewall disabled for playing and I said yes. So...in the end, that was his solution?

"I suggest you disable your firewall as this may be a cause of the disconnection".

Apparently he didn't even listen to me when I said the game was crashing not disconnecting, and also that I already do have the firewall disabled. -_-

Try Rebooting your Pc and rebooting your Cable modem if u have cable.

it migth be a IP problem u never know.

I'm sure he's rebooted his PC in the past 3 months.

If this only happens when you're playing the game and never any other time, then it must be something wrong with POL, it may have been coincidence with the installation of your sound card. I would try reinstalling POL viewer since nothing else seems to work.

You know I get the same problems every day myself O.o Except mine didn't start happening until I downloaded a lot of hentai. (I'm not joking, that's seriously when it started for me) Usually PoL will keep crashing on me until I restart my comp a time or two. Sometimes (rare occasion) my whole damn comp just completely restarts itself >_> I dunno what the problem is. My comp is only about 5 months old and all parts are sexy and new. Shouldn't be a video/sound card/ram problem. O.o

(I'm not joking, that's seriously when it started for me) Usually PoL will keep crashing on me until I restart my comp a time or two. Sometimes (rare occasion) my whole damn comp just completely restarts itself >_> I dunno what the problem is. My comp is only about 5 months old and all parts are sexy and new. Shouldn't be a video/sound card/ram problem. O.o

chances are you're over run with spyware and possibly have a virus(es)

I do routine system drive formats to keep everything running smoothly, just keep all your important files on another drive or partition and you can easily format and reinstall everything once a month or however often you want to do it. It sounds like a lot of work but if you set a side a couple of hours one day it's not too bad.

I suggest you try to re-install POL and if it keeps acting up

edit: Also, you said you got a new sound card, did you remove the old drivers from the old card you had? did you try playing FF again with the old sound card if you still have it?

yeah, after a while if you keep pressing no, it reboots your pc automatically :\

Yes I removed my sound card/uninstalled the drivers. I also forgot to put I formatted my computer 2 days ago and re-installed FFXI/POL and it still does it.
