A month or two ago the topic came up and if I remember correctly Ed said that FTTH was being offered for around 8,000 yen (I'm sure he'll correct me if I'm wrong), so very roughly about $80 a month US, so pretty damn cheap considering how good it is.
I win pulls (Faf, KB) on my PS2 with Turbo controller vs other JP with ps2 (and the new better psx), but I never figured out why. My latency is like...not good, either(295 but thats with a bunch of shit running). Dunno. I have several theories why I (and other NA ps2 users) can pull.
1. There is a fixed upload on PS2 (NA or JP) allowing it to actually be fair/luck based on server hops.
2. JPs latency on PC matters only a small amount because of the JPN National Network which is much different from the varied backbones across the US
3. POL's upload is fixed.
Dunno, discuss.

I'd post the whole thing if I could find the clip board, but I *think* thats whats important. But man, my connections must suck.
/sigh latency won't help on Remora.......NA LS outpulls JP almost 99% of the time now......its the way the claim system in FFXI works and not the network latency. If you have a good ping what will it matter if the LS next to you has a good connection also but a good bot behind that?

Damn ed, Im on PS2 so I dont think there is a way I can do this, but now that I lost my Hardline to my PS2 I think I am running about 24~36 Mbps instead of 100 ><. I can not wait to move out.Edwardtheblack wrote:

How much do you pay a month?
5000 yen a month
i bet the reason jp can have a connection like this at home is because nobody there downloads warez
I have a 10mbit and pay about $50 a month.
Zig could you PM some info on that, Im on the East Coast / Boston Area. I think I would like to get in on that for me and my room mates. Make alot of shit we do for not only school but online gaming alot better.
sure
