    ####The road to 100####

After 30+ hours seeking PT on my thief, i decided to cash in and think about Clothcraft to 100.

Before i start the gil drain, im hoping to get some accurate advice on synthesis success / skill up.

    ^^^^using earth crystal^^^^
    - Moon phase for best chance of skill up ?
    - Moon phase for best chance of success ?
    - Moon phase for best chance of HQ ?

    - Day of the week for best chance of skill up?
    - Day of the week for best chance of success?
    - Day of the week for best chance of HQ?

    - Millionare desk, help ?

    - Any additional information, tips, advice for crafting in general, or Clothcraft which is what im taking to 100.

    88-94 1.3m per level
    94-98 1.9m per level
    98-99 20m
    99-100 100m+

    Enjoy :/

I can't tell if it's even worth it to level subs anymore. I have leather but thinking of GS/smithing, but those recipes aren't any cheaper, they just NPC a little better. I'm not sure if it's worth it to level GS to 60 just to save 4k per synth, as my LS needs me to get to Dalmatica level like ASAP.

You will be broke before you get anywhere. My advice is to quit now before you lose all your money

    HTH HAND

BTW, Raineer, I skilled up 94->97 essentially "free" -- maybe spent a total of 1m TOTAL, mostly on breaks -- because I went slowly and had smithing/leather/gold subs at a sufficient level. It took me about 3 weeks per 1.0 skill.

I still need to zerg my goldsmithing from 51->60; once I do, I'm going to start trying to HQ crazy stuff.

Thanks Aurikan... That's kinda what I'm trying to decide. I'm certainly NOT "pl'ing" this, but I will probably do so to 94. I can safely make some Blessed gear for my LS at that level. At that point subs will certainly come into play.

These levels suck but somehow the gods are appeased from time to time.

At skill 89.1 (4.9 under the cap) on my 3rd Errant Slops synth I poop out Mahatma Slops. 1.8m yes, please!!! haha

    Orz...

I started my Cloth run with 9M, and I'm now down to 2.2M (should be 2.6, but I bought 2 Twinthreads to make some Corsages... broke one and NQ'ed the other -_-). This Arhat's Hakama stage is -killing- me. These things don't sell fast enough on AH to keep up with how much I make, so I just end up NPCing them for a little over 4k/per... that's ~32k loss a hakama. 85.8, so close, yet so far. I think I'm going to take a break at 88 and make some money back, and get my Leather to 60 (or as close as I can) for the last few skillup synths in Cloth. However, with all the crazy inflation right now, Rabbit Hide stacks (which you use 5 singles of to make a Rabbit Mantle) are now 6k/1D. Yes!

Right now on my server, Velvet Cloths (the Silk/Cotton synth) nets 20k profit/stack. Lets say I drain my gil in getting to 88 to 1M. If I can get 1M back with 50 stacks of Velvet Cloth... getting 8M back from the entire Clothcrafting run would take me...

    ...400 stacks. Dear God. ; ;

I could try some desynths, but they are WAY too unpredictable. At almost 86 Cloth I break the Lv9 Goblin Armor desynth MOST of the time. I have no idea why, but it's not worth it, especially if you end up desynthing more expensive items. I guess I could try HQing some lower level synths, but as we all know, HQs aren't the best things to be relying on. ><" Patience, Epi, ...patience.

Just hang in there... actually HQ'ing lower synths used to suck in cloth but if you check your level you'd be surprised at what you can HQ now.

I used to make reliable, slow money at lower levels (thread -> cloth for example) but once you in the 80's there are some HQ's that really bring in the dough ^_^

90.1 as of this post ^^

Goblin armor is the suck. If you need cotton thread, I always found it better to desynthesize robes, bought from the npc in port.

    225 per cut, results are:
    5 grass thread
    7 grass thread
    5 cotton thread
    6 cotton thread.

Throw the grass on a mule as stacks of thread or cloth and sell in windurst, and you should make back your expenses, thus the cotton is "free". Takes some time and effort, however.

Doing ALL your subcombines for arhats hakama is a good way to lose your mind.

    btw i think Aurik is a douche-cannon.
