so ff11 will be available for xbox360? I mean, it's no suprise that Square has to port FF11 from a much aged PS2 to a new generation console but i would have surely bet my money it would go to the ps3 and not xbox considering sony and square have a good relationship.

FFXI isn't going to come out for the Xbox. They clearly are talking about FF the series and not FFXI in particular. Why would securing FFXI be seen as a key victory in overtaking Sony? Securing future FF games would though.

i hope they at least release a graphics upgrade for the game, it already looks dated on pc and will look even more so on a next gen console like xbox360. oh well, i doubt i'll still be playing ffxi by the time it's released anyway.

when the PS2 thins came out there were several comments made about how SE was upset that it didnt have HDD capabilitys cutting off all future generations of FFXI players and there were rumored negotions of them moving away from PS3 because of this aperenty it isnt a rumor anymore ;.;

while most people might read and agree with you on that, it's a very well and though out marketing idea. Think about it


xx number of people use the ps2 to play ff11
xx number of people are looking into purchasing the next gen console
xx number of people see how they can play ff11 on xbox360 and not ps3


etc etc It secures a good number of sales and also attracts new ones.

I could imagine the login screen for FFXI x-box would be the most beautiful thing ever and would get everyone's hopes up, then the title screen will come up and it will be the same old graphics.

FF11 should be nice on XBOX 360. I play XBOX Live! now, its all good on games like PSO (besides 13 year old kids and the hacks). I suppose it won be voice chat enabled (good thing) because I would really hate to stand in Jeuno duning saturday morning cartoons.

Im curious to know if it will be out at launch of XBOX 360, and what kinda charges there would be(Xbox Live!, + POL FF11).

And a chance to try to move into the Japanese market. X-Box has a potential audience of 1,000,000 people by gaining access to FFXI.

That is not the odd part though, it is the fact that Sony would allow Square to make this move since they own at least part of Square-Enix.
