Someone made a good point on a message board (I can't remember if it were here or Allakazham) that if you compensate people for the DoS, then it could instigate people to launch similar attacks for the purpose of making/saving money. (I.E. launch attacks at times you do not play the game to get money off of your bill.)
I thought it was a very interesting argument.
