The Windower?

Where can I get the windower that allows you to alt+tab between windows without crashing your game?

I desperately could use tht.

I tried that one, it just puts your window in a really small window and I didn't really like it, although I guess it's not so bad if it's the only one I got.

uh no, just adjust your screen resolution in the Config FFXI link, it doesnt make it small, you were already playing it small

When I play it without the windower it's full screen.

We are saying adjust the Overlay resolution. When you start the windower, it uses that size as the size of the window. If you run your desktop at 1600x1200, and your game at 800x600, your windowed game will be 1/4 of the screen.
