It was my first time fighting this thing yesterday and I couldn't make heads or tails of what was going on.

Does he have a hate reset? Or just have perma-hate on whoever killed the last cherry sapling?

He does have a hate reset move and you have to be careful with it... I think it's Entangle but I don't recall for sure.

His (her?) hate reset move is the one where sticks come up through the floor and bind you. I forgot the name of the move but Entangle sounds pretty feasible.

I think the bigger "wtf" question that needs asking is with the Divine Log drop rate.

Was there even anything to use divine log for before they added shura? Maybe they figured they could add it as one of those "wtf" items that players wouldn't know what to do with for months, so they didn't have to worry about it being a decent drop rate.

Does anyone have an actual screenshot of the living rod dropping, or of an equip screen of someone who has it? My friends and I have killed cherry numerous times (15+) and have never seen the rod drop (or divine log for that matter), and I have also never seen anyone with it equipped at any point during my time in this game. I heard it's a black rod model, which is totally hot. :O
