Which would be better for end game in general for DRK. Scythe merits or great sword merits.

great sword
I always was under the impression that after 66 Scythe was just about useless for DRK.
Scythe is better when you're not /thf cause of higher DoT and multi hit WS, and Spiral Hell definetely isn't bad. And its a great weapon for farming. HP drain procs fairly often on too weaks. Great sword much better for WS in general though with /thf.Originally Posted by Heian

Jk,
pfft, If you ask me, both scy and gs are good end game.
Spinning Slash is awesome with THF sj but Guillotine is the shit with war and both don't require 300tp.
Well, I can't max both scythe and great sword merits. Just trying to decide between the two.
up to you, they're both good but ask yourself which one do you see yourself using more, and then go by that.
If I were you, I'd choose Great Sword.

I would agree with Orfeo that meriting Great Sword would be a good choice. Light is the skillchain of choice on a ton of enemies in the endgame world, and also since Dark Knights aren't exactly A+ with that weapon, meriting Great Sword would even the playing field with your Scythe maybe.
I find that nobody likes to make Darkness skillchain much because the weapon skills that do Gravitation are all relatively weak (minus Impulse Drive and Asuran Fists, but even they have their turn-offs - weak twofold attack, somewhat inaccurate eightfold attack respectively). Well there is an alternative to do a Darkness comparable in damage as the weapon skills for Light, but Kasha would have to make Gravitation in that process...
Mog house > teleport across map > claim mysticmaker
I was thinking the same thing. prolly goanna put 6 in gswd and 3 in scythe. {light} whore ftw

Alright, I'll focus on great sword merits then after I max critical% merits.
I think it'd be better to max Gsword first, then go onto Crit% merits, since you'll notice +2 in Gsword already, after maxing it out you have a little more freedom with your gear, crit % is nice but only real useful when you have around 9-10%, and since Gsword is slow you won't see it so much.Originally Posted by Sekkite

Well, I've noticed crit% merits go off a bunch from the 2 that I already have, although I should get Subduer for the +6% critical.
