Entries Now Being Accepted For "Ballista Royale" Event!

Please fill out the special entry form located on the "Ballista Royale" page. The "Ballista Royale" page can be accessed by clicking on the "Compendium" which is located in the FINAL FANTASY top page within the PlayOnline Viewer.

At this moment, we plan to hand out special items and titles to all team members that manage to make it past the preliminaries on each world.

SWEET!! ballista is my favorite thing to do in the game, thanks for posting this or i might not have known otherwise, I don't check POL site and i'm not in much contact with people of my server.

As far as the Japanese side of things went:

Zone: Diorama-Ghelsba
Restrictions: Normal Item use allowed. Level 60 cap. No subjob.
Teams: 6 on 6.

The winning team of the world championship on Siren got the titles "Final Ballistar" (with the usual ejaculation of ☆ characters flooding into 'Ballistar') and a sexy crown of laurels. If you make it past the preliminary you get what looks like a blue pajama hat. I think they both do the same thing. Enchantment: Teleport (uses 20 ballista points). Presumably the Teleport is restricted to the same rules that ballista instaports are.

Linking to it from here will probably rape the site's bandwidth but here are videos of every match up to the best-four from the Japanese Ballista Royale. The quality's a bit muddy but you get a good sense of the level of competition they brought to the table.

Oh man upon further reading of this in the compendium section I dunno if i'll be able to participate based on my previous post comment, but I'll type the important specifics out for those lazy to check, cause ballista owns!

What is Ballista Royale? : Ballista Royale is a special rules Ballista tournament where teams of 6 players (up to 10 players can be registered on the roster) compete against each other for the North American championship. First, 16 teams on each World (selected by lottery) will participate in a preliminary tournament to determine which team will be the representative for that World. Then the representative teams from all 32 Worlds will compete in a specially prepared World for the inter-World Ballista championship!

Entry Requirements : A team of 6 to 10 players with a designated leader must be formed. Only 6 team members can participate in any one match. The participating members can be selected or changed before each match.

Special Rules for Ballista Royale : Players allowed in a match: 6 per team. Maximum number of team members: 10 (Participated members can be selected/changed before each match) The 6 team members participating in any one match must all have different jobs. Support jobs: Not allowed (disabled during matches) Level restriction (maximum): 60, Level restriction (minimum): None. Equipment restriction: None. Normal Item use: Allowed. Briefing period (roll call to start of match): 3 minutes. Single match length: 20 minutes. Match style: All or nothing. 1st Petra selection: Not allowed. Petra holes: Some empty. One-time scoring limit: 3 per player. Called games: None. Number of Rooks: 1. Petra shoval usage: Allowed. Temporary item distribution: Yes (5 given at start of match, maximum of 10 can be carried). Voucher exchange: Not allowed.

There are quite a bit more details such as tournament schedule but i'm not gonna type that shit up. If you're seriously interested go into the POL viewer and right underneath the Play button it says Compendium. There is info for this is in there.

Watching the vid with Fairy server people. Rushen, Daos, and Rexia are all very damn good ballista players.

"Final Ballistar" is what you get when you make the semifinals.

"Ballistar Royale" is the title for taking it all home.

60 cap is nice, makes it more fair so everyone doesnt have Kraken clubs/Ridills/Joytoy/Firaga3/Uts:Ni, etc.

No sub jobs will really hurt the jobs that really relay on them. thf/war/brd will have a hard time without a sub but war can just use GA so they wont be hurt too much. rdm and sams will be great no sub lvl 60 cap. Nin doesn't need a sub and at 60 cap we have Jin, only job to have utsu will be nin and i think that would own
