You are not a melee, stop meleeing.
If you want to melee take up a melee job, or at least red mage.
Name - TP damage (100/200/300) Stat Mod Hits
True Strike - 1.0/1.5/2.0 STR 50% 1 Hit
Judgement - 2.0/2.50/4.0 STR 32% MND 32% 1 Hit
Hexa Strike - 1.0/1.5/2.0 STR 20% MND 20% 6 Hits
Black Halo - 1.5/2.5/3.0 STR 30% MND 50% 2 Hits
I like the idea of WHM melee because Hexa Strike is fun ; ; Please don't shatter my dreams lol..

Theres also a note on True Strike about it can critical sometimes. Although thats on the WS desc, theyre not sure how it really activates. I wish Staff had some nice damaging wses besides one thats only dependant on STR. ;x

Hexa's chance to crit improves with TP, not dmg.. i wonder why it says it has 2x mod at 300%. Seems to me base dmg is the same regardless of TP.

Also there was some screenshots of a WHM doing 1.7k hexa to sapphire quadav, 1000+ hexa on spartoi sorcerer.
WHM melee works, and they kick ass in ballista, just not fit for all situations to melee obviously.

The mods don't add up to 100% because its not where all the damage comes from. The damage comes from the regular WS formula, with that TP mod, then a mod based on your whatever stat to a certain percentage, if that makes any sense.

DMG = 40 (for whatever maul you have)
base STR of character = 60
additional STR (from equip/food) = 20
total STR = 80 (30% of 80 = 24)
base MND of character = 70
additional MND (from equip/food) = 30
total MND = 100 (50% of 100 = 50)
the 30% and 50% is how much of the stat to use, it's not suppose to add up to 100%.
40+24+50 = 114 is the magic number to use in the WS calculation.
fiddling with your food and equips can change this number, the higher this is the more damage you can potentially do. this number will be used to calculate the damage per hit. for multi-hit WS, even if you get this number up really high, missing one of the hits will greatly reduce your actual damage, so often it's better to have the Accuracy than to completely pile on the stat mods.
the actual damage output is also a lot more complicated because you also have to take into account, your STR vs mob VIT, your ATK vs mob DEF. another factor is whether or not one of the hits is a critical.
You forgot to multiply by WSC, which is 0.83 at 75

WSes that are 1/1.5/2 are usually not worth it to save up for 300%. Its only best if it jumps from like 1/3/5 or something else sweet like that. ;x
Yeah, but hexa strike doesn't do any extra dmg at 300 tp. I think the entry for hexa strike is totally wrong.
What Clubs do you guys use when you're in melee mode? I use the Sea Robber Cudgel and Genbu Shield for WHM/BLM or WHM/RDM and Sea Robber Cudgel and Darksteel Maul (though i've been camping for the other Pirate lately). I also use Blessed Mitts +1 and Blessed Pants for the haste and Suppanomimi to improve swing speed, healer's mitts, ruby ring (yeah yeah, no flame ring), spike necklace for hexa strike; though after seeing the formula I think I might prefer +8mnd over +5str. I'd have to test it.
It's not much in the way of damage on lizards and stuff in Kuftal Tunnel. I can barely solo a DC with /nin but it's fun nonetheless. It's also fun Hexa Striking Skeletons.
