Knowing that the dragons resist chi blast by 1/2... this would be a 1940 on a fafnir or nidhogg.

It's perfect mnd gear.

all monks shoot for a magicial +81. that means +81 mnd with food. I also have +2 mnd merits, and songs. +83-84 can be acheived with Conquest + effect gear, which sandy wasn't in control.

However what you are forgetting is MND potions which add 10-50% of your BASE mnd for 5 minutes (2 blasts). For hume this translates to a 6-33 boost, bringing us to 156-184.

Not sure how much etudes give; I never get them. +50 with soul voice maybe? That would get us to 206-234.

As Elvaan, the difference between MNK/NIN and MNK/WHM MND is 7 (with maxed merits, 69 vs 76)

So dual Mighty on firesday you'd get an extra 1 MND (9*2 - 10 - 7).

Max base MND is 76, that's Elv MNK/WHM lv75 with +4 merits.

The best sub to achieve record numbers is actually /DRK, because it gives 69 base MND but you can land Absorb-MND on stuff up to dc at a moderate rate. I believe Absorb is +18, so you'd get an extra 11 MND over max with WHM sub, of course you lose Stoneskin and all other useful WHM stuff, and you need the weak mobs nearby to absorb so its not option for Kirin or Faf/Nid.

Combined Etudes give a peak of +27 MND, +54 with Soul Voice. This might increase with brd skill merits, and/or absolute max skill gear, but that's the highest you can reasonably expect from a BRD.

My current gear is almost perfect, just missing Cmn earrings cause I constantly forget to buy materials. That means 76+69+10+27 which adds up to 182, hence the sig. With the earrings that will become 184.

Here's the other factors you could get, but which are not 100% active/static amounts :
Blue Drop (+5ish?) OR Mind Potion (10-50% means 8 to 38 for me)
Conquest pants (extra +2 while in control)
Maat's Cap +2
Fenrir buff on full moon +7, less with smaller moon OR Carbuncle random buff, its like +30ish?
Absorb-MND as /DRK +11 OR Dual Mighty Cudgels +1
Soul Voice +27

So for absolute optimal conditions :
/DRK in an area with weak mobs +11
Area controlled by your country +2
Maat's Cap +2
Your BRD uses Soul Voice and has capped skill/+1 harp +27
Mind Potion, and it gives you 50% +38
Carbuncle's random buff hits MND +30ish
