Posting this here to get opinions / facts of these boots

Ok, do the boots infact give you "Fast Cast"

OR do they just enhance a fast cast that must be given to you (ie subbing RDM or being RDM main) like the suppanomimi earring and dual wield.

Yes I know, tests have been performed, but from what I can tell (and my own testing) having them on without rdm sub or rdm main really doesnt do anything for "fast cast"

cast cure3 with them on and with them off, and chest your recast timer. thats all the testing you need to do.

I guess its not the "fast cast" I was looking for. They mean fast cast as in lower recast on spells and not fast cast as in speeds up casting the actual spell :\

Fast cast does both, but it's only a +1% increase.

So many people said it was 5%, so I tested it on a friend's WHM account I have access to:

Normal Reraise recast time:60 seconds
With pumps on:59 seconds

60*.99=59.4
60*.98=58.8

Therefore it's a 1% reduction.

In addition to this...
BLM/WHM w/o boots recast drain = 60s
BLM/WHM w/ boots recast drain = 59s
MNK/BLM w/ Panther Mask (2% haste) recast drain = 58s

So as far as recasts go, it seems to be 1%. I'm not sure how fast it speeds up actual casting since it's hard to tell due to lag and some spells cast too fast to tell.

Yep, it also only has any use on recast on spells over a minute long. My Stoneskin had the same recast time with and without Rostrum when I did the same test Nny did. 1% sounds about right.
