ffxi on linux?

ok, after reading a thread on alla, it got me interested, I HATE WINDOWS, i would absofuckinglutely love to be able to run linux, and found cedega for linux will run a lot of games including WoW and Star Wars Galaxies, but has no mention (that i could find yet) of FFXI

i was curious if anyone here has any experience with this

I can't begin to tell you that if you're a pc gamer, then you're better off staying with windows.

I also think that nobody actually "hates windows" but hates the fact that it's the most used OS in the world.

With that said, is cedega a renamed version of wine or something?

no, i despise windows, i grew up on macs, windows is a piece of crap lol

wine had problems running FF in the past, but that was a while ago so im sure it could have gotten better. Best thing for you to do is try if you don't find your answer.


In another note, i read the eula(?) on cedega and i think it's the first time i've seen a linux program be so damn nazi.

lol no. Unless things have come along significantly since I did it last (you can probably blame some of my problems on having an ATI card) ffxi won't even think about running properly in emulation. Emulate and emulator? Rwr.

Just do what I did. Do a complete clean install of windows, put firefox and ffxi on it and nothing else. Zero problems
