    Xbox 360 launched today in Japan

    Some photos and a writeup (in Japanese) here. Of interest to me was this one:

    A copy of the beta version was included for free with every console sold. I don't think Square has announced any info about a North American 360 beta yet. I'm somewhat curious as to exactly how Square managed to integrate the PlayOnline platform with Xbox Live, since they both serve largely the same purpose.

    Anyone know of anybody who has picked one of these up?

    If I were japanese... i'd buy as much of those as I can and ebay them off to americans who i'm sure would pay up there ass even for a JP XBox360.

    Part of the reason Microsoft made the 360 sleeker than the xbox and white was to try and get more JP users interested since the last console, the xbox, was totally nasty to them especially. So now I am guessing giving out FFXI to them is basically just incentive for them to buy it. Better graphically than a Ps2, which most JP use.

    im in tokyo and i visited some places that sell xbox360...

    iv seen no intrest from japanese people whatsoever ...no one standing in line.. no one taking brochours...and heck..why would they buy the 360 to play FF if it would over heat and burn after couple hours....

    imagning a whole alliance DC while fighting fafnir because all they're xbox's went on fire..
