UK FFXI 360 beta

I read this morning that the next issue of UK's Official Xbox360 mag will have the full FFXI beta version stuck on it for free. I don't know what's happening with America getting it and I don't know if all of Europe will be getting it with their magazines too but I figured it'd be of some interest to any other English 360 owners here here.

Still waiting to find out if regular accounts can be used on it. I doubt it but does anyone know for sure?

January 4th. I hope I can use my normal account on it, and I'm pretty sure that it's possible. My friends who were on the UK PC beta said it was basically the full version of the game with an account that's like a 'free trial'. Or something. I'll pick up the mag just in case.

And apparently it doesn't need Xbox Live either.

My friend says that it's on a seperate test server IIRC and I'd doubt your regular accounts will be compatible with the Beta version.

From what i gather it puts you on the beta server, requiring you to make a new char... then when the beta is over, world shift your new char to xxx server...

Remember when cop came out? and all of us who had imported FFXI, had to import COP as well as the eu version wouldnt work with na install?

That's installation though. You can still play an NA account on JP client, or EU client etc.

sorry :/ I forgot

there is someone working on getting it to go to the real servers though, apparantly they have the normal install with 1 tweaked file that forces you to go to the closed servers for beta, but its the same install as regular FFXI

I'm pikcing up the UK mag - can't wait to lv my RDM taru on a new server, without a messed up economy and gilfarmers. :D

Found a link last night to the xbox mag site. NA beta release will be in the Febuary Edition of the mag which will hit in Jan. Don't know if that link posted in this thread is the same or not (Damn work Computer)
