I got that message too. I just walked away to avoid kicking my computer and came back and had the "Version Update Complete" screen. Just leave it alone and everything should be fine hopefully. If you close FF with that 99% complete screen you will have to reinstall FFXI. I know because I've had that happen before.

It's possible the enchantment stuff will suck. But it really sounds like Dynamis - Tavnazia stuff from the drops, and idk I just can't see Rare/Ex dynamis drops which ahve limited enchantment. If so it would be dumb, but I have a feeling it's more like infinite use, once an hour or something.
