Damaged file recovery

Yar. Reinstalled windows and burned some files that I wanted to keep, one CD got messed up I guess. When I try to extract the files with Winrar it says they're damaged and I'm unable to extract the files.

My questions are:
1) Is it possible to recover these files?

2) Does anyone have a program that is able to recover damaged files that is FREE and actually works. I've downloaded a shit ton of programs that can apparently recover the files, but I'd need to buy it. I'd rather not buy $50+ software for one CD. ._.

I'm not sure what program you downloaded, but typing the program name + crack in google will usually lead you to porn site... or a crack/keygen. (which often come with a Virus you have to remove later ).


As for extracting your corrupted file, isnt there an option in winrar to allow extraction of corrupted file? I cant tell you where exactly since its not installed on that PC, but if you look around, you will probably find it.

I cant garentee you anything extracted will work tho.
