    question about bahamuth v.2

    hello,
    since my ls had problems somehow with only blm as dmg we thought of something else.
    the alliance my ls had looked like this:

    pld/nin
    nin/war
    whm/smn
    smn/whm
    rdm/blm for dispel
    brd/whm ballad and march

    blm
    blm
    blm
    blm
    brd/whm
    rdm/drk to chainspell jorm

    blm
    blm
    blm
    whm
    pld to invincible tiamat
    rdm/drk to chainspell vrtra


    what i would try to do is:


    pld/nin
    nin/war
    whm/smn
    smn/whm
    rdm/blm for dispel
    brd/whm ballad and march

    blm
    blm
    blm
    blm
    brd/whm
    rdm/drk to chainspell jorm

    blm
    blm
    blm
    melee to tank wyrm pet and sc for blm
    melee " " " " " " " "
    rdm/drk to chainspell vrtra


    now the question, is it total suicide to have melee like war/nin or drk/nin or w/e tank tank the wyrm pets and sc on them for the blm? it has been stated that those jobs can tank them so there should be np in that?
    the blm said they didnt get resisted much, so maybe aga burst dmg is enough to take the pets out?
    if the 2 tanks (whatever job) in 3rd pt use sleeping pots/opo necklace - icarus wing before wyrm pet pops, they would be able to sc on those asap, and blm take out their life quick i think.
    after the 1st ga volley from blm, if the rdm/drk and drk/nin or w/e cast 1-2 good timed stun, it would prevent the wyrms from acting a bit and they would die atleast with the 2nd row of blm spells i think, if not already dead from the 1st ga.. i think those pets have 10k HP i read?

    overall, just wanted to know if that would maybe be a way to defeat it? or is the space totally wasted with 2 melee who tank and sc on the wyrms?

    i read all that, and my ls tried to fight like that.
    i want to know if it would be ok to replace one pld with 1 melee, the whm(or other mage) with the 2nd melee, and make them sc so the (wyrm)pets die faster.
    cus like when stanislaw wrote, ga spells brought vrtra down to 40%, maybe with sc it is able to kill them in 1 ga volley, or come close to it.

    just save your ES for Vrtra, 6-7 ES thundaga 3s will kill Vrtra if your blackmages dont suck horrible amounts of ass. Make sure your blm bring all their elemental magic gear like AF hands and such and you shouldn't have a problem really

    Needs more BLMs. That's the only solution for anything in FFXI.

    our strat is perfect i would say.. we even took out one RDM and changed to THF/DRK (3 mask 1 staff in row.. and 150m in materials)

    our record on that BC is 30min
    its really a joke once u master it

    we use 1 PLD/NIN on Baha and 1 for Wyrm
    honestly i think this bc can be done without 2hrs
    we going to try it soon
    just save ES for Vrtra or Jorm those are the killer wyrms
    the main problem is these wyrms have high regen which is what makes u need to kill them asap.. i think Vrtra regen exactly 1 % every 3 sec if not more


    biggest advice for this BC is dont do it without a THF.. waste of an orb
    without THF ur lucky to get 1-2 materials and a good item

    we went 3 runs withut THF and got 3 NQ staff 3 scythe and like 2 materials total

    then we used THF/DRK and we got those drops above 3 times (but only 1 staff in all 3 of them)

    when you replaced a rdm with a thf/drk, then i think it would be np aswell to have the 2 melee inside alliance and sc?
    cus like stanislav said, the baby wyrms have high regen, so my thought simply was to welcome them with a skillchain (distortion or light, depending on wyrm) so they are not even able to regen cus 6-8 ga spells should take them out when my math was correct.. >< when bani said, 6-7 es thundaga takes vrtra out w/o magic burst, you can be sure they die in 1 -ga magic burst volley, no? (take it 6-8blm are bursting the sc with blizzaga or thundaga)

    cu, that's all for now =o

    problem is their 2hr is timer based not hp based
    so.. if u take too long on vrtra he will charm u before u can SC

    Could you in theory have a Thief party outside the BC waiting in Riverne, and you invite them at 1-2% before the kill?

    Well, there is a level cap thing for people inside Riverne, that's why I was asking. Also, no one know if TH is in effect when you're out of xp range.

    also cant have TH4 if ur outsidelol
    as u can see we can do this BC in 30min with a THF inside.. so why keep them outside? let the THF have some fun by stunning the -ga 4

    How can you not have TH4 if the thief are outside? I was talking about inviting multiple thief anyway

    ty for the info on 2hr being time based aswell, what i thought about that to have melee use opo necklace / sleep pots and/or icarus wing to sc basicly right at pop, after 1st voke from war/nin..

    i mean it could work.. but its not worth the trouble
    the dangeris Vrtra.. if u take too long he wil start charming people before u get ur SC off

    PLD/NIN WHM WHM RDM/DRK BRD SMN (Tank PT)
    RDM/DRK BLM BLM BLM BLM BRD
    BLM BLM BLM WHM RDM PLD/NIN (Tanks Wyms)

    other questions :
    must the rdm sub blm to dispel bahamut?

    also you have a smn in your tank pt. would a 3rd whm be better?


    also the melee in our shell want to fight. SAM DRG DRK MNK WAR etc.

    is replacing 2 blm with melee for skill chain + MB better? or having all BLM just straight nuke?

    the reason why i ask this is the melee in our shell want to have a chance to fight and we are arguing its better to have straight blm than to include melee for skillchain. we just want to win first. however if we do win with mass blms, eventually we want to try to let our melee players fight too. Are there any strategies that include melee that wouldn' jeopardize the win?

    masa you just asked a question that i asked 5 posts before =o
    all i wanted is a sc for wyrm pets, i asked for war/nin or drk/nin as sc ppl, cus those jobs are able to to tank them and are able to keep the wyrms in 1 position after pop with voke/stun. i dont care, have whm and pld in 3rd pt do black halo-savage blade or w/e, just my idea is to sc on wyrm pets asap, to kill them in 1 volley lol.. that's all i suggested dont matter what job you use as long as they can sc..and tank the wyrm til they are dead <.<;
    + thing is, you would replace the 1 pld/nin and maybe the whm in 3rd pt with the 2 sc ppl, so you would lose 1 blm max. if you keep whm in alliance.

    RDM/DRK x2 is what we use in BC.. and they dispel fine, but our RDM are max enfeebling

    i wouldnt recommend repacling BLM for SC.. its less reliable
    and the SMN in tank PT helps for Dream Shroud its 10% off Gigaflare
    and u need SMN to BP Vrtra so it wastes some charms on the pet

    I forgot about that, but isnt Thief knife really crappy? 2 TH2 sound better than 1 TH4
