How is the latent effect on this thing activated? Haste+4% Accuracy+12 is easily the best headpiece available for 75 melee.

It's relevence relates to the helm that King V drops, which is much better than the Frenzy Sallet.

Can you die from just the 100 hp/tic drain? Say I put it on in town and zerk....

This could make FFXI suicides pretty easy.

can't die from souleater, so I don't think you can die from frenzy sallet

Can't use frenzy sallet on NIN though

Although when I level NIN, I will be popping venom pots and using that earring (as well as the level 50 ring; haste+4%). I don't understand why NIN don't use that earring more often; it's godly. The level 50 JSE BLM ring (Magic attack bonus +10) is now a few million each on my server, and imo doesn't have as much of an impact on the job as the NIN earring does (which is only 2k or something ridiculous like that).

You do realize the earrings only work in RED HP. So basically if you have about 1200 HP in DD gear as a NIN, you're looking at sitting @300ish HP all of the time while meleeing. I'm sorry but no way in hell I'd risk that. Anything worth tanking you cant be sitting at 300 HP.
