I have yet to see anybody play as complex riffs as James Hetfield does, and sing on top of that...

Nope. I, personally, have yet to see anybody compete with James Hetfield. Sure, it could be my ignorance and narrow-mindedness towards music, but I still rank James Hetfield at the top... Although I've only heard a little of Children of Bodom and nothing from Opeth, so opinions could change... I regard James Hetfield as an innovator of all that is playing guitar, and singing - at the same time... Hell, I've tried it. It's difficult as fuck.

Plus I like to think I know what I'm talking about

lemme see if I can find a good example of something opeth on youtube. It's not just opeth though, there are a million bands out there that do it just as well.

Well my friend recently bought an Opeth album, and he's been listening to it alot as I can tell with his MSN comment thingy... I may just download an album or two via bittorrent tonight. Any suggestions?
