Tool. Vicarious. Get it. Got it? Good.

Yeah I got it earlier than preceeded to play it for three hours on repeat before realizing that I had and switched in Sonic Youth's new album (<3 internet). It reminds me of Schism and Parabola and is certainly in the Lateralus mold which, though not a bad thing, I guess I was expecting something more evolved. Certainly not dissapointed though. I read an interview where they said a lot of their new stuff came out very Meshuggah-esque and I can hear that even in Vicarious (around 3:47 it sounds like The Paradoxial Spiral from Catch 33). Looking forward to 10,000 Days more than ever now.
my brother had me snag it for him, not too bad
10,000 Days has been leaked.

Yeah, when I first heard Vicarious I thought it was good, but I was expecting OMGWTFAWSM after 5 years of nothing and was dissapointed.
I'm not dissapointed anymore.
"The Pot" and "Rosetta Stoned" are probably my favourites from it so far but as with all Tool albums it's hard to pick favourites after a while. "Lipan Conjuring" is probably the greatest bridge/filler/interlude/whatever they've ever done too.
This isn't getting turned off tomorrow.
(btw, Luminaire is dissapointed D:)
Oh and just to give my views some credibility, Tool could shit in a CD case and I'd call it the second coming of Christ.
I was the same way pre-Emotive.Originally Posted by Russta

Maynard has repented in my books.
Listening to it now, so far impressed.
Tool never ceases to amaze.
One thing I've noticed is that it seems even MORE progressive than their previous albums, so far. Maybe I haven't listened enough to Tool of late, but the songs seem a lot more progressive and even more emotional than their previous works. A good thing in my book.
omg Palin liking something that isn't emo.
WHO'D HAVE THOUGHT!
This coming from the pop-rocker.
Nfc where people got that Gothic, Melodic Death, Prog-Power, Symphonic, and Symphonic Black Metal = Emo.

I only cry when listening to Opeth and Tool. What can I say, they bring tears to my eyes.

Oddly enough, Tool is by far the hardest music I listen to, since most of the other bands with music like this don't appeal to me.
Something about they way they deliver the music, the mixing, added oddities, and just down right fucking ingenious lyrics and randomness. Hard to explain, but I would pay $100 for a Tool CD.
Even though I got the Torrent, I'll buy the CD just to support their music.
dammit

I have it in mp3, I don't mind sending you it over AIM when I sleep tonight if you aren't too bothered about how fast you get it (20kb/s upstream lol). I've fixed all the ID3 tags too. I can't link you to anywhere to download it in mp3 because I was sent this directly over AIM by a good friend who scored it on IRC (like how he got and sent me Sonic Youth's Rather Ripped two months before it's released and is on no torrent sites).Originally Posted by Almaa
The story of why it's in m4a is that someone who had gotten an advance copy had it on his iPod, he had that stolen and then whoever did that ripped it straight off from there.
