In their thread they said he was running from them and they were unable to claim. Was running at around Striders speed but could never cast or Shadowbind without it getting too far.

It's not possible to have done all 10, at most they could have done... 7? 8 now.

Maybe beating all 5 Assault zones is only the requirement for the first Rank change? Also, it didn't say they already WERE Superior Private, it said thats what they get for completing this mission, so its possible that this is the first mission of the next rank.

I theorize that Odin is to ToaU as Bahamut is to CoP. He's likely one of the driving forces of the storyline.

Well beating the assaults isn't what triggers the rank change, the quest afterwards is. So there has to be -some- pre-req between getting the quest for first class and this quest.

Doesn't beating the first set of assaults open a 2nd set? I thought I read that in one of the threads on here. If so, then perhaps after beating the 2nd set, you could get access to the quest involving Odin?

Yeah I posted a guide on the Private First Class wildcat badge, it's unlocked after beating all first 5 assault missions. It's gonna be another 5 days before I can find out if I can rank up this way.

Sorry for the bump, but I know there was speculation about whether this screenshot was real or not. This happened to a guy I know after meriting in Caedarva Mire outside the staging point for Azouph Isle. He didn't see what happened, he wasn't really paying attention then all of a sudden whack whack whack and he was dead. Said he barely even saw the mob that hit him, and no idea if there was a Dark Rider around.

Sorry if this is OFN, but last I heard there was still some doubt as to the validity of these screenshots, and I haven't heard of any more reported sightings until now.

There was a screenshot of someone fighting Dark Rider, himself, and doing 0 damage every hit (he was melee). So it appears this is a job for a team of BLMs.
