    THF/RNG FTW?

I was just looking at the new gear from the assault missions and noted all the Racc the one armor set provided:

    Pln. Khazagand 72 - 42 - (Body)
    MNK/THF/RDM/RNG/BST/NIN/DRG/COR/PUP
HP+20 Accuracy+10 Ranged Accuracy+10 Increases rate of critical hits
    HP recovered while healing +2
    Set: Enhances "Subtle Blow" effect

    Pln. Qalansuwa 72 15 - - (Head)
    MNK/THF/RDM/RNG/BST/NIN/DRG/COR/PUP
    HP+25 Accuracy+7 Attack+5 Ranged Accuracy+7
    Set: Enhances "Subtle Blow" effect

    Pln. Seraweels 72 36 - - (Legs)
    MNK/THF/RDM/RNG/BST/NIN/DRG/COR/PUP
    STR+3 Accuracy+4 Ranged Accuracy+4
    Set: Enhances "Subtle Blow" effect

    Pln. Dastanas 72 19 - - (Hands)
    MNK/THF/RDM/RNG/BST/NIN/DRG/COR/PUP
    Accuracy+5 Ranged Accuracy+5 Ranged Attack+5
    Set: Enhances "Subtle Blow" effect

    Pln. Crackows 72 13 - - (Feet)
    MNK/THF/RDM/RNG/BST/NIN/DRG/COR/PUP
    DEX+4 Accuracy+3 Ranged Accuracy+3
    Set: Enhances "Subtle Blow" effect

    Set: HP +45, Acc +29, Racc +29, Att +5, Ratt +5, STR +3, DEX +4
Increase rate of critical hits, Subtle Blow

SE also said that they would try to attempt more job combinations, do you think THF/RNG would be a good combo now or do you think the TP gain would be too slow relative to /NIN?

thf/rng has sucked nuts since the RNG nerf. don't look too hard into this, who would wear an entire set of gear just for Subtle Blow anyways?

I'm not a melee, but isn't subtle blow/store tp much better now?

    The correct order is W T F, not F T W.

STR+3 is pretty shitty for a set though :/ even if you're just using it to TP imo

This set is clearly designed for a pebble throwing Mnk.

No Subtle Blow still sucks. You can have all the subtle blow in the world and it doesn't stop your party member mr ridillwar filling your mobs full of TP.

The only time it's relevant is when you're the only person giving the mob TP. At +18 subtle blow + 20 from being a lv75 mnk, I actually out-tp the mobs I'm hitting as long as they don't hit me. It's useful for things like bombs and the mobs that spawn chigoe.

With my peak setup, which gets me to 45 subtle blow overall, I gain ~5 TP from every swing and my targets gain 4.4.

    no lol, quit thf plz.

what TP gain problems are thieves having exactly ??
Batardeau + Thf's Knife I was getting 100% TP every ~35 seconds, peaked at like 25 seconds once.

Head isn't bad compared to Optical. Sacrifice some acc for some attk. Great if you eat sushi.
I'd wear legs too. Good if you don't have Homam. THF don't really have that many options for legs.

If they take a while releasing AF for Corsair, some of this is probably going to be the best equipment for them for a while (and if the AF is shit, forever).

Only the head looks any bit of decent...the rest I simply don't care about. Unless body happens to have a noticable +crit increase (unlike THF AF2 vest) then I doubt I'll get any of them really.

  12. #12

Whats the crit increase on THF AF2 vest?
This thing has the same acc as NQ SH, NQ Togi. If the crit increase isn't unnoticeable, it'll probably compete with Togi for mnk.

although this gear is clearly pretty good for any ranged weapon using job, I think its more tailored towards the Corsair like Russta said.

So what you're saying is it's like the "enhances the effect of elemental resistance spells" on Blessed Briault?

    Gotcha.

Words in a box that do nothing...at all...

Barspells are +20 with briault on, aren't they?
Not sure if they're further enhanced with +1.

Had 2 WHM friends test one for me independently, using the spells on themselves and me. No duration or "# in the box" change was seen whatsoever.

AF2 legs yes, briault no.. Can't say that I'm lucky enough to have HQ'd one.

I think it lengthens how long they last, but I'm just going off what a WHM in my LS told me mid-Tiamat fight awhile ago, so in all honesty this post is probably worthless and just adding to misinformation.

(Maybe he meant the AF2 legs?)

I also have a WHM75 mule and I tested the "radius" that the spells reach in -a fashion, it was the same distance. Checked duration with a stopwatch, everything :/

The only difference I can imagine is that it's a further chance for that amount of resistance to "proc", just like with +160 to an element there is always a chance to not resist at all.
