Because i burst Stone on fafnir/nidhogg SOOOOO much...

But anyways yea i wish i picked the MB earring instead of the conserve MP earring, for the fact that i got the conserve mp earring and havnt equiped it at all in like 3 weeks.

I think the 50-60 more damage was implying it adds that much damage on a high end spell. It won't add that much on a lesser-damage spell. From what I have heard, the MB bonus is about the equivalent of MAB+ 5~7, I can't remember which. So, it's like having two pairs of AF2 gloves on.

And to the person that said static only- they both are nice, it just depends on how you play BLM mostly... Conserve MP=more damage in the long run, like if your t-ga3 gets the MP cost halved, that's an extra 180 MP to toss out a t4. Static is nice too if your LS is balanced and does some skillchains for the BLM's.

The mb earring is much more situational then the magnetic earring. But like the person said above me, if your linkshell does SC's alot and you like big high dmg numbers, go with the MB. If you wanna conserve more MP over the long run and be able to do additional nukes get magnetic.

I personally like big dmg numbers but to each his own.

On a serious note, I picked the static for ePenis. In my experience, conserve mp kicks in a lot more on spells like warp and teles rather than nukes, and when I'm casting those I'm not generally worried about conserving. No, I haven't done any testing or analysis, it's just what I've noticed.

When the OP gets af2 boots, which I'm in love with over yigit, another debate entirely, the Conserve MP argument will hold less water as I think there's some diminishing return to it or cap. In extensive duoing with another BLM with af2 boots+weskit+magnetic vs me, I saw no chain (at least 5+ xp mobs) where she could even squeeze in another tier4 over me at the end. Again, no real thorough, testing or analysis, just brief observations.

lol how can you be known for conserving MP? It's not like the log says "Conserve! Dank casts Thundaga III for 2000 damage for only 180 MP!"

I would like to have a nice balance of both conserve MP and damage, but it's really up to the person playing, and what you have access to.

I think BLMs have enough good Earring already that they don't HAVE to pick one of these for BLM. Same for me on RDM, I already have decent XP Earrings, so I'm going to get mine to solo with (Hollow I'm pretty sure, although Magnetic and Ethereal are VERY tempting) not that anyone cares about RDM soloing gear.... <.<

Besides, if you have Moldy, and you then pick Static, you are going to regret it even more later down the road if/when you get a Novia (Or is it Novio?) Earring, I'm sure many have already replaced their Abysal (sp).

I wear the AF2 boots fulltime and kind of end up wearing the static earring fulltime too because my stoneskin macro swaps it in, but no other macros have room to swap it out >.>.

I picked static because I MB enough for it to be useful. Dynamis Lord, Kirin, Fafnir etc...

You won't regret it even with Novio. When you MB, you'd swap moldavite for Static and keep Novio in the other ear.

You don't regret Static even if you get a Novio, because Novio/Static becomes the ideal damage for MBs. Static adds more MAB than Moldavite. '-'
