i also tried defragmenting drive C:/, Virus scan, 3D Analyzer. none worked.

it would help if you post what OS you are running, followed by your computer hardware.

If you don't know how ti find this out, then go to

    start -> run -> dxdiag

save all information and then post it here (copy/paste, host the txt file somewhere etc)

Sounds like a bad stick of memory maybe? Look up memtest32 and run that once.

that kind of error doesnt have anything to do with bad memory (normally), it is a program related crash. Are you using a windower (and if you are is it the latest version?

This is just the uglier version of "We're sorry for the inconvienence but the program encountered a problem and must close" message that appears in pre-windows XP (well, normally xp uses the "sorry" message but I have had it do messages like this before)

  6. #6

no, as i wrote, i'm not using windower. i'm using the legal full-screen

    legal
    lol

    its happening every time?
try running a file check on the game (POL login screen -> file check) and see if that turns up anything.

First thing I can tell from that dxdiag report is your sound drivers suck, try to get them updated so they are WHQL ok'ed.
It probably doesnt have anything to do with your problem but it's something you should look into anyway.

Your video driver doesnt appear to be WHQL'ed either. Go to nvidia.com and download the latest forceware drivers for your video card.

  9. #9

i did that and nothing went worng. no files missing or anything

  10. #10

update your audio and video drivers as mentioned above.

  11. #11

i wil, but i dont think anything is wrong w/ them.

this happened yesterday so i dont think its that OLD

a lot of times ram does go bad and sometimes it causes errors like this to take place.

Update your drivers (video etc) and if that does not solve your problem, shut your pc off and pull 1 stick of ram out and see if pol will boot like that.

My computer started actiing weird recently. POL, Firefox, and other programs would randomly crash or givem errors. Turns out that one of my RAM sticks have gone bad. OCZ has lifetime warrenty though. :D

Those errors were called "illegal opperations" in previous windows versions^^ in *nix we call them "segmentation faults", whatever the bloody hell that's supposed to mean.

I had those same kind of errors when I had a racoon stuck in my PC. After I chased him out things were fine.

    Welcome to the forums friend!

Segmentation fault = reading/writing memory outside of your segment. Typically dereferencing a null pointer, which is what this error is.

Not that this info helps solve the problem.
