Criticism on how to build my WAR

Yeah Hecatomb Cap first choice for Steel Cyclone macro, then Genbu Kabuto secondary, Both STR and VIT are 50% modifiers, strength having the greater emphasis.

Just stack up the STR and VIT and you should be able to own Byakko.

I've done just shy of 1800 with /thf and meat.

And 2100 with /mnk full boosts and mighty strikes+300% cyclone

You should easily be able to hit 1400 without any Hecatomb, on Byakko

I used to be excited to do that kind of damage back when my only job was WAR. I'd totally beef up my Steel Cyclone, get into the main alliance, unload it, and sit out the rest of the fight feeling proud.

Now I just do a couple BPs... and a couple more.

For the record, Corsair's rolls also activate the latent effect items that work with songs (Auditory Torque, Melody Earring's, Hototogisu).

steel cyclone seems to suck (at least for me) on byakko

i get like 1100-1300, whereas on seiryu it just utterly destroys him

and 1100-1300, that's with 74+68 STR or whatever i have right now and berserk

here's a nubby question that i've never seen anyone ask before, when you crit on a WS, does that pretty much negate berserk's attack+? i've never seen a huge difference with berserk up/down when i sneak attack shit like steel cyclone/ground strike

Hahaha yeah, first SC I dropped on seiryu was 15-- with a mirror darkness, and then later that night I dropped like 2 900's on byakko

I don't think it negates the attack bonus from berserk.

Well regarding Haubergeon vs. Hauberk, it's pretty much a moot point. I still use Haubergeon as my SAM can use it, and I'm not going to fork out another 4mil or so because it looks slightly cooler and it doesn't have the AGI and EVA loss.

As for merits, I'd say definitely go for 5 Double Attack merits if you're adamant about the Axe/Axe combo. Then I'd probably go for 8/8 Axe merits and then 2 Berserk/2 Aggressor as Kaylia already mentioned.

I'm a taru. I can't go over 1.1k and I have a very very good steel cyclone setup.

Taru can do fine, just gotta pray for DA procs.

I haven't done byakko in a while so I think i'll see if I can attend one and see fron a random ls. I don't really touch GA that much as I have my axe merits almost capped.

As far as CoP wyrms, I've done 1.2 cyclone war/nin.
