For all you people in the UK

So this Wednesday (May 24th) ill be headed to the UK for the first time in my life for about 6 weeks for study abroad. Ill be staying at Kensington and the Metrogate Apartments or something and I was wondering, what is there to do and what are some good places to eat. Any info would be appreciated

Some of the Chinese restaurants in China Town are amazing (I guess that's pretty obvious though).

BTW Raineh, where do you live?

Just so you know(i know americans can't seem to fathom this) but England is a big place and we do not all know each other :D

Ok sarcasm over, What do you like to do ,what do you like to eat?

Kennsington is quite a nice place for London (although the best road in London is the one out of it).

You do know your coming in the World cup which if England are winning England won't really be England as people will be happy which is kinda an odd site. I recommend finding the busiest Boozer when England are playing and watching a match you might then understand our obsession

    LOL happy English people!

There's a sight worth coming to England for, I've lived here 18 years and I haven't seen it =/

If you go London you (obviously) have to see the west end, Oxford Street, Bond Street and such, areas to avoid, Camdon, Holloway (where I live), Tottingham (where I've lived), Edmonton (I've lived here too), Brixton and anywhere past Finchley (cause it's so boring).

I live near Blackpool (chav capital), you definitely don't wanna come here... Since I live in the North-West, there's not much to see here. Best place to go for sure is London (naturally), but I agree - when you arrive, the nation will be crazy, perhaps a little intimidating.

People from the US generally like the UK. I'm not exactly sure what there is to do down south though, probably better off browsing teh Interwebs.

Don't fall for the fake history and general crapness of Robin Hood, you'll only want to hurt people. Sup Nottingham...

That said if you like subway + starbucks then Nottingham is the place for you.

London and Liverpool are the main places for fun in the UK in my opinion.

It all depends on what you wanna do here...

    Social Drinks & Food
    Clubbing
    Casual sight seeing

But yea, Gilanth is right about the World Cup.

I live in Canada but I have dual citizenship in UK, and have visited it quite a few times. London will have literally everything you want. But yeah if England loses in first round of the WC, all I can say is expect a huge riot.
and lol@nottingham pic. If someguy pick pockets you Find him and beat his ass.

    Milton Keynes
for anyone unsure, if Milton Keynes was a server it would be less recognisable than Sylph (which is in fact a server)

I've been to Nottingham twice and was amazed I came out alive each time, such a shithole, avoid it like the plague.

And yeah, I'd avoid Brixton and Camdon too. I occasionally go to the Brixton Acadamy and Camdon Underworld and Ballroom for music gigs and they're not nice places. Even that short walk from the tube station makes me feel uneasy.

You forgot Madame Tussauds Wax Museum, I wonder if my puke chunks are still on Sir Elton John.

I feel paranoid walking from the bus stop in holloway to my house. And I can take care of myself, but DAMN there are crazy people around, I went from Camdom to Mornington Cresent (where my friend lives) to crash for the night and wow, It was fucked up...
