    So Wafik got a Mandau...

    Must be time to go kill bunnies!

    Summary of this post: Mercy stroke = 1 hit WS, fTP = 3.0, and a really really really sexy 60% strength modifier. A great relic weapon, in the scheme of things

    Numbers below, if you aren't a math nerd, just read the above and skip the rest.









    Data collection methodology:
    Use SA + weaponskill on Wild Rabbit at TP = 100-110%
    Repeat until a damage value is repeated at peak.
    Then we assume that pDIF was capped at 3.0.
    We assume fSTR is capped.

    (Or in the case of Spike Necklace / Shadowstitch we get lazy and assume that the highest number is right since it matches all the other data. Feel free to get your own fucking mandau and test it yourself if you want to prove this wrong)

    dmg = pDIF * [DEX + fTP * ( WD + fSTR + [WSC * (MOD * STAT)])]

    894 = 3 * [73 + 3 * (32 + 11 + [0.83 * MODS * STATS])]
    298 = 73 + 3 * (32 + 11 + [0.83 * MODS * STATS])
    225 = 3 * (32 + 11 + [0.83 * MODS * STATS])
    75 = 32 + 11 + [0.83 * MODS * STATS]
    32 = [0.83 * MODS * STATS]
    39 =~ MODS * STATS
    39 =~ MOD1 * STAT1 + MOD2 * STAT2 + ... (equation 1)

    With 79 str we have

    957 = 3 * [73 + 3 * (32 + 11 + [0.83 * MODS * STATS])]
    319 = 73 + 3 * (32 + 11 + [0.83 * MODS * STATS])
    246 = 3 * (32 + 11 + [0.83 * MODS * STATS])
    82 = 32 + 11 + [0.83 * MODS * STATS])
    39 = [0.83 * MODS * STATS]
    47 =~ MODS * STATS
    47 =~ MOD1 * STAT1 + MOD2 * STAT2 + ... (equation 2)

    Taking the difference between (equation 1) and (equation 2),
    8 =~ MOD_STR * 14
    So MOD_STR = ~0.6

    Also, since

    [0.6 * 65 * 0.83] = 32
    [0.6 * 79 * 0.83] = 39

    Therefore I conclude that there are no other stats that modify the WS, as STR is sufficient to make up the entire value of the [WSC*MODS*STATS] block.

    SOIL GORGET:
    Increases fTP by 0.1
    915 = 3 * [73 + 3.1 * (32 + 11 + 32)]
    969 = 3 * [91 + 3.1 * (32 + 11 + 32)]

    I'm over the frigging moon that the DEX60% rumour was BULLSHIT. I knew it was weaker, I couldnt put my finger on it, and im not a smart programmer like aurik, so after bunny testing and me stealing exp from noobs (lol @ lvl75 1 shotting a lvl1's potential exp ), and then aurik doing the math, ends up it was STR60% is the mod for Mercy Stroke.

    Im fucked over though, I dont have heca hands or feet, and those will provide me with a nice boost ><

    The numbers mercy pumps out is nice, even for when I couldnt put my finger on what were the mods, I had a feeling it was STR, since dragon harness wasnt giving me the numbers I was after Here's some pics of it's dmg.

    No bard, using Marbled Steak.

    In my SATA setup :
    STR65+ 42 (36 from gear, +6 from food)
    DEX73+34 (all gear)

    These were the numbers when I first got it, still Dragon harness onry, so -12 STR and +6 dex, also they're EP, and obvious weak to peircing just like the abraxas :

    Nothing to write home about, I know I can be outdamaged, but with my setup I was hitting 1200-1400 often on the birds with SATA onto the tank after the sam did SA+Gekko.

    Pretty nice damage i'd say for a relic WS, esp considering I had no idea on the STR mod, i'm going to have to experiment with more gear and try to pump up mercy. Definately have to go for STR merits now >< those will be annoying, 3/5 triple attack merits, will focus on that first

    I'm insanely jealous. But holy shit @ 3.0 fTP. SB at 300% is only 2.5 and the modifier is higher, that's great. Still going to be forever before I have mine, but oh well, it's coming along...

    How much TP did you had for those WS? Going soon after 100, or building 300 every time? If it's 100+, that's pretty sweet.


    How potent are the hidden effect on mandeau? (poison? Anything else?)

    TP doesn't affect fTP on relic WS, anyway that seems to be the case from what I've read in general, and it very clearly is the case with Final Heaven.

    As far as damage is concerned, 100% and 300% is all the same, with TP affecting the side-effects.

    All of them at 100%, damage doesnt vary with TP on relic, if I went to 200 or 300 i'll just have a longer lasting crit hit rate.

    As you can see, the "additional effect" is poison, not hidden. Critical hits is in the WS description when looking at it in the menu , which is also not a hidden.

    As of now, im probably leaning towards an enmity increase, because sometimes for some freak reason, I just get a load of hate while TP'ing, and the mob turns. Hardly ever though, so im not going to say for sure it's enmity increase, it could be my damage.

    I still cant find out what the hidden effect is, if it's going off, it's not very obvious to me.


    About triple damage. Sometimes it kicks in at the best moments, the other day I used SA + WS, but I had 98% TP instead of 100%, so the WS didnt go off, but my Sneak attack alone did 847 damage. It really is nuts when used on the right mobs. Burning in Bhaflau thickets is nice too With a bard, SA+WS = 1400-1700. When it does Obfiscuate(sp?), I can still SA+Mercy since I am unnafected by flash on sneaking a 1 hit WS.

    Does the "increase crit rate" actually raise the crit rate or is it broken like the other pieces of equipment allegedly are?
