Kite while he's on four legs, straight tank while he's on two legs. Fill in the blanks.
4legs = resistant to melee
2legs = resistant to magic
2legs = dangerous AOE WS
Bring Reraise
Kite, Nuke, kite, nuke...
Dont stand infront of it on two legs, thats a good time for the SC
Uh, Think we use PLD/NIN.
BLM's kill the gunpods when they spawn
Easy fight, 10 mins or so.
Don't stand in front of it.
Kill gunpods fast.
No sex in the champaine room.
TANKZ YOOZ
another question, if he's resistant to magic in 2legs, does MB work?
not 0 damage resistant, more like magic damage taken -%
SC on 4legsOriginally Posted by Tymon
If your LS is like a Limbus LS w/ just a bunch of different people(meaning not a strong HNMLS) you might want to not have melees get tp on him while on 4legs, cause you'll just feed him tp for like 1-10dmg per hit.
Also bring Opo+Sleep pots.
ok, that contradicts someone else. should the kiters stop for the sc or does he do anything on 4legs that would give the melees enough time to sc while the tanks are still out there?Originally Posted by Julian
He's not very dangerous on 4legs, his ws are mostly weak and such, just straight up tank it.Originally Posted by Tymon
My LS used to kite him on 2 legs cause of the dangerous WS, and just have rdms do a chainspell stun order.
at the last 20% or so he'll go up on 2 legs and wont go down.
just have to go all out. samurais rape him.
He can counter for over 1k damage (one reason not to stand in front of him) so melees use shadows. He runs faster than NIN boots on 4 legs, so if you wanna Kite, you need a Blink Tank with Stun support. He can be stunned by just about anything, have RDMs sub DRK. You can stun his WSs if you're talented. Immune to Gravity and Bind, so don't bother. Guided Missile II is devastating, make sure you get a few stuns after this to cure up and get shadows and all that good stuff. Flood Light is AOE and I remember it sucked pretty bad, don't remember if it did anything nasty in addition to the damage though. Gunpods hit like a fucking freight train. I would suggest a NIN or WAR/NIN vokes them at first, and BLMs do a timed nuke so that it doesn't get a chance to run over and smack a BLM (Which it will probably one-shot) Gunpods will go down from less than 2 TierIVs (I did a BlizzardIII on one for a little less than half of its HP)
Ninja Edit: Oh yeah, the last 10-20%, like Judah said, he doesn't go back down, BUT he also loses his Magic resist at the end (He is no longer resistant to nukes even in 2 legs) and a few from my LS say he had another form that was 2 legs, but kinda hunched over and while he still took less from nukes, it wasn't as bad as 100% - 2legs magic resist.
This wall-of-text brought to you by:
I don't even think you need to kite while its on 4 legs. Skillchains on 4 legs w/ SAM or /SAM, build TP and disengage at 100, repeat. On 2 legs still straighttank but have BLMs lightly (so they don't get hate) nuke it until it switches back to 4 legs.
You want to definitely stun Pile Pitch and Colossal Blow, as in addition to doing a fuckton of damage, they are hate resets.
Dispels after Target Analysis. Paralyna after.. Guided Missile 2? I don't remember.
Stun and Zerg. Dead in under 5 minutes depending how hard you push it, no strategy needed.
Is this thread about Proto-Omega, or Vrtra? Because I'm not sure why anyone is talking about kiting. Um, just fucking straight tank it and kill it in 5 minutes. That's what we do.
I think the overall level of badass in the room has just increased.Originally Posted by Hiruke
In my Limbus LS (not an HNMLS, just a bunch of people interested in doing Limbus), we usually kite him while on 2 legs, and straight tank when on 4. Melees keep their TP and do SC when on 4 legs, so the mages can MB when it's not resistant to magic. We use a couple of NIN tanks, and 2-4 BLMs depending on attendance. Hate management, Stun order, Reraise items, all mages under Stoneskin, nuke the pods as soon as possible (they die fast to a T3, but can kill several mages in seconds, so kill them asap). Chainspell/Stun when it reaches the laser phase helps a lot to finish it off, but it's not necessary.
It's not that difficult a fight overall, but you need to not mess up early on, or else it becomes harder to manage. My LS can kill it in about 10 minutes, but also wiped to it when several mistakes happened during the first minutes of a fight (people got overconfident...).
