So I was trying to find an old post on this but couldnt find anything relevant.
Does thief knife have to be mainhanded for the TH+1 to take effect? All I found was this

Maybe he farms spiders as THF/NIN, and wants to know whether he should mainhand or offhand Thief's Knife.

My advice is to mainhand Mandau, and offhand Thief Knife.

Perhaps for the same reason that Martial Knife doesn't give TP Bonus in the offhand.

Yeah the daggers/axes RNG/NIN use give stats in the offhand. If you offhand a heart snatcher you still can get the +crit. I don't see why offhanding Thief's Knife would matter, except if you are paranoid about TH working to begin with.

Because treasure hunter is dependant on mainhand weapon? Huh? You're adding a trait. WSes use the weapon, TH doesn't.

Weaponskills are performed by the main-hand weapon. I don't get why this is hard to understand.

If you off-hand a Heart Snatcher, you will only get the crit bonus on your off-hand swings.

I think the obvious solution to this is for divisortheory to go do another 1500 kills with thief knife in offhand using same mobs and compare the results to the first test he did in the linked thread with knife in main.

Yeah I was wrong lol... can't dual wield staves anyways. This was about offhand stats being transferred. If I offhand a Shellbuster I still get the CHR boost for example, RNG still gets the +rng attk and +rng acc if they offhand fransisca etc. Asking someone to parse 1500 fights for the sake of TH in offhand equates to a punishment imo.

Correct, the crit+% only applies to the hand that wields it. As an example, lets say a ninja mainhands senji and offhands fudo - main hand will have a 6% bonus, and the offhand will have the 3% bonus. The bonus is NOT applied globally across both hands as was first thought.

This is why people are envious of Destroyers, the bonus is applied to all hits.

last i checked crit bonus isn't a job trait
