I used photoshop and 3d max. The piano was a model i googled for that i had to cut to pieces (it was originally a grand piano with a hood). The sheet music on the piano is the super mario brothers theme. thanks to my friend ithorien, i was able to get the lighting and some other things right.

Did you purposely leave the noise levels semi-high?

I am new to 3dmax, but from what I've been told the 'noise' effect from the shadow is caused by the limited amount of rays (rays i think are the amount and quality of the light being shown) I used in the properties of that certain light.
